-Our interview we scheduled for 8:30am. We arrived at 8:00am to join a short line to have our names verified on the list. We were then told to wait outside where we had to remove our cell phones, turn them off, and place them in a bin to carry into the security check. We were told to enter one at a time, send our things through the scanner, walk through the metal detector, then we were given a locker to place our belongings.

-We entered the Consulate and were told to sit in a specific row. We waited for our names to be called. The first time our name was called, was for verification of all the documents. I was asked if I was the petitioner and one-by-one was asked for specific documentation: passports, birth certificates, letters of intent to marry, passport photos, and the I-134 and supporting documentation. I walked with too much documentation as I wanted to make sure I had everything: Tax Transcripts for 2016 and 2015, a letter from my employer, my employment ... read complete review

Put your right hands up. Do you swear that everything you are about to say is the truth? We do.
Are you the practitioner? She asked me
When and where did you meet
Did you started dating immediately after meeting each other?
Have you ever lived or worked outside of guyana?
When?
How old were you when you returned to guyana?
How often did you travel to Guyana? She asked me
What's the longest time you stayed when you visited?
Does either of you have children from previous relationship? Or together?
Have either of you ever been previously married?
Consluate to us: you have a beautiful love story.

Your visa is approved come back next Tuesday the 3rd. then she interrupted herself and asked me when was I returning back to the United States I told her I was returning on Tuesday the 3rd of April, she asked my husband did he mind traveling alone the following week I then asked her is it at all possi... read complete review

The interview was scheduled for March 1, 2017 at 9 AM.  Both petitioner and beneficiary attended the interview.  If the petitioner is also attending the interview, please take your US passport because security will ask for it, as well as one of the officers you will meet.  After passing through security, we sat in the waiting area close to one of the speakers (it was raining so it was difficult to hear the names as they were announcing them).  When our name as called, we proceeded to the window where we were asked to submit the following documents:

* Interview letter
* Original birth certificate of beneficiary
* Original birth certificate of petitioner
* Original marriage certificate
* Updated police certificate (you should not use the same one that you used at the NVC stage)
* Medical Examiner's Report (please ensure it remains sealed)
* Two 2x2 photos of applicant
* Passport of beneficiary (ensure that... read complete review

Our name was finally called time to turn in the paperwork requested for the interview to the 1st officer,we were greeted by a very polite young lady that asked for our passports, Visa photos and medical. She then asked us to have a seat outside. 10:15 we were called to the window where sat a young officer typing away on her computer,. She asked my husband his name and who I was, he replied my wife she then asked me when did I enter the country I replied yesterday, she said you came for the interview? I replied Yes I did.
