My mom and dad had their interwiew on Sept. 30. They were scheduled at 7:15. They got there at 6:30 and got number 11. For some reason, they were called after number 22; actually, they were the last ones after a waiting time of 6 hours. The interview took about 10 minutes. It went smooth. The problem was that they did not bring wwith them the sponsor's 2012 w-2 and 1040 because they didn't know. The interview letter they got which has a list of docs. required at the interview didn't require those docs. How are they supposed to know that? Anyways, they will schedula another interview date next week. Hopefully, they will get their visa by then.

Any new contact information on the US Embassy in Guatemala?

We received our NO2 on July 18, 2013. On August 2, we received a letter with our GTM Case number and were told that the NVC was forwarding our case to the Embassy in Guatemala. According to the K1 Process Flowchart, the Consulate in Guatemala should had contacted or sent a letter to my fiancé in Guatemala after a week of receiving our case. They have not contacted him.

In the K1 process flowchart it says to contact the Guatemalan Embassy to make sure that they received our case. I have sent an email to support-guatemala@ustraveldocs.com but the consulate informed me that they are not accepting and that we should call them. My fiancé has tried calling several times and has not been able to get a hold of anyone.

What is the most current email address of the US consulate in Guatemala? What number can I/my fiancé call to actually get to talk to someone that can help us? ... read complete review

Others have explained the process on the interview day, so I’m not going to go into that. Overall things went through easily and we were thrilled when we left the embassy! The interviewer was friendly and easy going and the whole interview took like 10 minutes. We weren’t asked for any additional relationship evidence or even questioned about our relationship. The whole interview was pretty much just the C.O. going over our paperwork and asking us to confirm the info on it.

ADVICE/ORIENTATION FOR THE APPLICATION PROCESS:

1. Use Direct Consular Filing if you can. Since we had both been living in Guatemala for over 6 months and I (the USC) was legally residing in Guatemala (ie; not here as a tourist) we were able to use this option. The whole process from application to interview and approval only took 3.5 months! The lady at the window where we originally turned in our petition said that it would take 6-8 months, but that was completely false. Some peop... read complete review

Got there at 6ish. there was already 4 people in front of us. k1 go to the residence line not the tourist line. went in at 8 my fiance got to go in with no problem but i had to wait for the security guard to write my passport on a clipboard. after that they sent us into a security room where they check you. after that you go out and go up the stairs and into the embassy. (one thing try to push the know down on the entrance door many people were stuck outside till the security guard came to open it can be a little confusing to open it) once you go in the first thing you see is a bunch of chairs in rows and on the sides are all the windows around the whole room. you wait for like 15 minutes or so and a guy comes out to explain how the procedure will be and how to put your fingers for the biometrics. they start by calling the tourist visa firsts. THe time to see the person at the window vary depending on how much the peopl in front of you take. once we got called the lady ask for all ou... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My husband, Dennis, had his greencard interview for IR-1 status yesterday (5/22/13) in the US Embassy in Guatemala.

He arrived for his 7:30am appointment at 6:25am and was issued ticket #7 for the day. He waited for a bit and was called to a window to confirm application information. The worker at the window was a woman and she specifically asked who the co-sponsor was to my husband (his father-in-law). She then went to retrieve our petition package from somewhere and commented "wow, this has alot in it".(Probably due to the hundreds of pages of skype messages javascript:emoticon(''). To which my husband replied with some remark about how anal I am as he was standing with an exact replica in his arms and an extra folder labeled "additional evidence". The whole process at this window took about 10 minutes. My husband was then told to sit and wait for his name to be called for the interview.

My husband waited and then suddenly had the ur... read complete review
