Ok....here we go....
On my husband's original interview date in October, all went well. The lady that interviewed my husband and son was very kind. However, they requested a DNA test to prove that our son was really my husband's. My husband was told that the interview was over but that he would have to come back in 3 months time for the results of the DNA test. We were able to get the DNA test to them by 11/19/08, so I tried to get our appt moved up but they were unable to do that. When my husband showed up for the appt in February, he was interviewed by a gentleman who told him that unfortunately, they were unable to locate the DNA test and that he would have to come back on 3/18/09 to give them time to get another copy.
I was VERY upset when my husband called to tell me all of this from outside the embassy and I asked him to wait there while I called them. When I spoke to them, they first told me that they were sorry but sometimes things got lost i... read complete review

It's extremely frustrating dealing them. No responses to e-mails or phone calls and yet documents are not being processed. When you look at timelines from England or Canada, things seem to be working but in Ghana or Africa for that matter, nothing seem to be moving. I hope they will understand that this is about family unity where children are involved and yet the other parent is on the other side of the Atlantic with children waiting to see mom or dad.

Although I can understand the reasoning for the delay, it looks af if the rescheduled are being extended deliberately, when the items they are requesting could be obtained within two, three weeks or one month. And it also seems like the embassy personnel relish the power they have, and the fact that, they are causing us to spend money unecessarily, while being continually frustrated.
