When I dropped off my documents the lady on the other side of the glass told me that the translation of my documents was not good enough, and that I would most likely be denied. We sat down and waited until I got my interview. The man that did the interview looked at the papers and the translation of the documents and told me that there was absolutely no problem with the translation. The lady that said that they were not good enough seemed to have a problem with people that speak and write better english than she does... (she is German)
The man told me I was approved, and wished me a happy life.

A very nice experience! It's all about having your documents and papers ready...make sure you have all which is required (police certs, birth cert,etc...).

The actual interview with the Consul was a very brief:
-"So how did you meet your fiance?"
-" We work for the same airline!"
-"Oh, ok...now the fingerprints, please! Thanks. You'll get your visa in about a week!"

That was it!

I spent the night before the interview at the Hotel Alleenhof, the rate was EUR 60.- including breakfast. The walk to the embassy takes about 15 minutes. It is no problem to leave luggage at the reception and to pick it up after the interview.

It was a lot easier than I thought it would be!

Hello Everybody

My Name is Marina, and it's my first review, so please excuse if I don't find the right words.

Derek and I know each other now for 2 years and like everybody here we can't wait to be back together.Even when we was Lucky to live 6 month together!
Anyway as the Consulate in Frankfurt "invited" me for the 02.22.2008, I was a little scared as I had bad experience in the past with the old Consulate in Frankfurt, former next to the Palmengarten in 1997.

So I was glad to start with the Medical, and this was very easy as everybody was so friendly!
I came to the Doctor and they gave me first a Number(#5), then I needed to fill out a form, again very easy!
You will need:
Your Passport
A Passport Photo
Your Vaccination card
125€ cash Doctors fee
This I had to give with the form I had to fill out before.
Then they send me downstairs... read complete review

I had my interview on Feb 22nd 2008. It went very smoothly and the staff was very nice. I was asked a few simple questions and then was told because of my overstay i had to file a 601 waiver.
Filed it the same day...no issues. The staff was very pleasant and would take that consulat any day again.

So today was the big day of the interview FINALLY...
My appointment was scheduled for 8.15 in the morning, but i was already there at about 7.15 and there were about 15 people in front of me.
At around 7.45 they started to let us in and before u go through the security u gotta show ur appointment letter and ur passport and then u will be given a number...
So as i was done going through the security i came into the embassy and my number has already been called to window 23...
Didnt even have time to sit down and wait

So the lady at the window asked for my passport, my picture and the receipt for the paid visa fee and handed me the envelope, where i had to put my address and the
4,25 € postage stamps on it.Then she gave me a paper what told me how i have to prepare my other documents ( birth certificate, police certificate and evidence of financial support )...So after waiting about 10 minutes i was called to the ... read complete review
