I got all psyched up about this but it turned out to be a breeze. The consular staff was extremely friendly. I made a mistake with my military records (long story short: I didn't bring them) and the consul just told me to fax the document to them as soon as possible. Three days after I faxed it the visa was in the mail.

The processing time was also way shorter than I thought, I was in and out of the consulate within 3 hours.

She said it went well and she was missing some forms and they let her fill them out during the interview process

It was a piece of cake! The people are really nice at the consulate. My appointment was at 07.30h. We got there around seven, had to wait a little bit, but the line wasn't too bad yet. Once we received the number at the reception, we went through security and then into another building. There we had to wait about 30 min before my number was called the first time. I had to give the lady 3 pictures of me and she gave me an envelope and told me to put my address on plus the stamps and then to wait until my number was called again.
We waited another 30 min until I was called again. At this window the lady took the rest of my documents and told me what I will have to do once I enter the US. She told me the Consul will talk to me next. So I waited another about 30 min until I was called again. The Consul was really nice and the interview took all together about 5 min. He just took my fingerprints, asked me where I met my fiance and told me to have a good trip ... read complete review

Writing this for my fiancee, based on what she told me.

Frankfurt is really easy. She had an appointment on the 10th of June, at 8:00. She got there at 7:30 and was pretty much let right in. After the security checks, and being issued a number, she went in to the room with all of the windows. The first two windows were easy and she said the people were very nice. She was really nervous as she went to the third window for her interview with the consular official.

He basically peppered her with questions over and over again, asking her the same questions two or three times without even really bothering to listen to her responses. After he felt she was sufficiently interrogated, he said "Ok, if everything is ok with your medical, you'll get your package in the mail in 7-10 working days."

She had her medical done the week before in Hamburg, so that was no problem. She got her visa in the mail today 7 days from her interview, total, including a ... read complete review

Hello Everyone!
I had my interview last Friday and I can honestly say it was a breeze. The staff is very helpful at the Frankfurt Consulate and I was basically in and out in no time. The interview was scheduled for 9am, I got there at 8.15 and went in at 8.35am. The entire K1 procedure basically takes place in three steps.
Step 1: You'll receive number and wait it to be called. You'll go to the window and follow the instructions (in German).
Step 2: You'll sit down and wait for your number to be called again. You'll go to the next window and follow instructions and hand over the last documents/evidence.
(in my particular case, the entire conversation took place in German)
Final Step 3: You'll wait for your number to be called again. This will basically be the interview with the consul. He or she will ask you a few questions and if you're lucky (keep my fingers crossed for all of you) the visa will be granted and issued a few days later.
I lef... read complete review
