Our appointment was at 7.30. We arrived at 7.00 and there was already a long line. We got in 3rd because they called US citizens out of the line and I was accompanying my fiance.
We waited to be called to window 23, the lady told us how to sort the papers and to put stamps on the envelope. Then we waited again to be called to a man who went through the papers (he asked for the military papers of my fiance), let him sign the documents that needed to be signed, collected the rest of the papers, compared originals with copies, explained the procedure in US ...
Then we waited again and eventually were called to the CO. He asked whether the interview should be in German or English. My fiance opted for German. He needed to swear the correctness of the papers, took fingerprints ... Then he asked him when we met, where we met, what my job is and when we are going to be married. I was standing right next to my fiance and was chatting with the CO a bit. He then said he should have... read complete review

As much as I complain, however, the DCF, or Direct Consular Filing, process was surprisingly painless. Even the interview was benign, I mean the Consulate official only water-boarded her for two or three minutes, tops.
The questions went something like this:
1. Hi, how are you? To which she answered, fine. (So far, so good.)
2. How long have you known your husband? How long have you been married? (Again, pretty easy.)
3. How did you meet? At this point; I interjected, saying that I felt it unreasonable that we answer questions that are clearly covered in the GeoffandAmy.com FAQ. I mean, that is why they are there, so we don't have to. If he didn't do his homework first, it is not our fault. He gave me a look, that I interpreted as "Be quiet."
4. Have you ever been to the US? She answered she had, he followed up with "Why?" She then mentioned that she lost her baby and went for the funeral and that li... read complete review

There is not much to say about my interview but maybe it will help some people to stay calm when they have their interview.
I was supposed to be there at 08:30 am but i arrived at 08:25 and had to wait to get in. When my daughter and i finally got in at 08:45, we went to the first window and after 10 min, we were called to the second window. After an other 15 min we went to the last windows, they took my finger print and asked me to swear that my information is the truth and that was it. The officer didnt ask any question about my daughter, he didnt want to see any custidy papers and he didnt ask for any evidence of my relationship with now hubby.
At 09:15 everything was over and we went home. I couldnt beleive that it was so easy and so quick
