Everything went well, until they told me that they haven't got my Medical report, even I had the medical taken 4 weeks earlier. Window 23 was easy, the Lady behind window 19 couldn't stop smiling and was really nice. Interview was hold on window 17 and it was just 5 questions. Appointment was at 7.30am, got there at 6.45am, entry at 7.15am (was 5th in the Non-Immigration line) and out at exactly 9am!
The Interview was in german, the Lady didn't even ask me if I want to have it in german or english, she just started to talk in german, so I replied in german.

The arrival: He arrived at the embassy at 6:45am and they were let into the embassy at 7:30am. He showed his interview letter, passport and walked through security with the copies of documents I sent to him.

Inside: He had to talk to 3 different individuals at the consulate. The first lady gathered the payment for shipping his visa to him. It was 4,00EUR for that. He had to write his name on the envelope and then she took his passport. The second lady was a real sweetheart he said. This lady looked through his paperwork and verified that everything was correct. There was only one issue that was cleared up and that was my income. I didn't have 125% to the poverty line and she asked my husband about that and he cleared up the fact that I was in Germany with him and couldn't make money there. She said, it wasn't a problem because if you added the months I was away from the USA, I would have been above the 125% line. After that, there were no issues whatsoever and my hubby s... read complete review

I went to Frankfurt on Tue, Aug 5 and stayed for two nights. On Wed, Aug 6 I had my medical. If you go there early enough you don't have to wait too long. All in all it only took me an hour. First I had to fill in a form about my medical history, then I had to go downstairs for the blood and urine tests and the x-ray. Then back upstairs for an exam with the doctor. She asked some questions, and did a quick exman, including an eye test (I wonder why that was necessary... not that there's anything wrong with my eyes, but what if? Would it matter??).
The staff was really nice, especially the woman who took my blood. The doctor was a bit grumpy, but since I don't want to marry HER, I didn't really care
So on the 7th I had the dreaded interview. All I can say is, don't be nervous. It was a piece of cake, really!
I took a taxi from my hotel to the consulate and was there at about 6:50; my appointment was scheduled for 7:30. At 7:00 they let everybod... read complete review

Benny called from Frankfurt this morning. Odd that the caller ID said Utah call.

He'd brought a birthday card from my son for part of his proof of the relationship. However, because of the song device (Star Wars music) they wouldn't let him take it in. They said it was an electronic device. Funny they wouldn't let a birthday card through.

They made him take more photos (so he lost his place in line) because his ears weren't showing in the ones he brought with him. Benny said he saw nowhere that his ears had to show.

He forgot to bring the picture of us but the agent signed off on the visa anyway. We just have to wait for the medical to be done. It appears the doctor wants to use all that the free insurance allows, mostly because Benny hasn't been to the doctor in so long.

The day before the interview, we left home at midnight, got to the Consulate at 6:00 a.m!
Too early, so we left for coffee then came back for the appointment. Waited outside for about 15 minutes, then went it. They call for "united states citizens first please!" So we were the 2nd couple in.
We sat down, then got called up about 5 minutes later to the first Consulate worker. She was very nice, and gave us a sheet as to how to put the paperwork in order, and told us to buy stamps and then pay for the processing. (The exchange rate is crap at the Consulate; we actually paid $432 instead of $400 because of this, and I wish I had known this beforehand.)

After this, we sat down again for a while, and then got called up to go to the 2nd window. This man was also nice and friendly. He went through our paperwork, checked things off, and then said we were all set with that. Then he told us to sit down again and wait for the last process, the actual "Interview." So t... read complete review
