Writing for my fiancee, she went to the interview and this is what she told me.
She said everyone was nice, even the security guards were playing catch with some children waiting in line.
Her appointment was at 7:30, but 8:45 (her time) she texted me.
Needless to say she was very happy and excited. She told me that the interview took five minutes tops. The interviewer asked:
* Where did we meet?
* When did we first meet in person?
* The previous question was followed up with "so you've visited him the one time?" (She visited me more than that one time).
* What do I do (me) for a living?
* And he wanted to see if she had two pictures of us together (which she did have)
She told me that it was over so quickly that she didn't even realize the interviewer had already given her back her documents.
The interviewer told her that the AOS is going to take 4 weeks to 3 months so we should ... read complete review

All in all a good experience:
I arrived almost an hour too early at the consulate. They still let me go in right away. With the K1 I didnt even have to stand in the long line.
In the consulate it didn't take long at all. The consul asked me a few questions, didn't even want to see any of my additional pictures/proof of ongoing relationship and I was done in about 10 minutes. The interview was even in German.
It took me an hour and 15 minutes TOTAL (walking in until walking out).

Very friendly staff. My appt was at 8:00 and I was finished by 10:00. Basic questions - how did you meet, when will you marry, what does your fiancee do. Then "you are approved"! No paperwork to bring, just the passport - as all was done online and at dr. office before the appointment. I hope to pick up the visa in a few days at the embassy.

Very smooth altogether. While processing took a while (maybe because my desired departure date wasn't too soon), everything went very well.
My interview was scheduled at 7:30 and by 8:15 I left with my visa granted. (2 weeks until I should get it in the mail). As a K1 invitee you don't have to wait in the nonimmigrant line. The security check wasn't bad, and I got called up as soon as counter 22 with a family of 6 ahead of me cleared. Then I had my fingerprints taken and an officer went over my information with me (I had a typo in my birthday, thanks for making me realise!) I got called to the actual interview right after, and the questions asked were reasonable:
- How/when did you meet (wow, 9 years is a long time)
- why get married there, not here
- what does he/you do for a living.
I also got informed that the AOS process may take 10 months (I hope not!!), meanwhile I cannot leave unless I want to lose my status. I asked ... read complete review
