First of all - no reason to be afraid or nervous!
I had my interview at 7:30 in the morning and arrived at the embassy at 07:15. I had to wait in the line for a couple of minutes to go to the window where I had to present my invitation letter and passport (also got my waiting number there). Then: Security check (Don't have a cd with you! They were so nice to keep it so I could retrieve it later, but you never know). The lady at the reception was very kind, gave me an information sheet and told me to go directly to counter 22.
Counter 22: I handed over my passport, the officer (very nice) took my fingerprints, checked if the payment (DS160) was made and told me to take a seat until my number appears on the screen. Said, done.
After just a couple of minutes my number appeared and I went to counter 20, where another officer (also very nice) explained the whole process (what to expect of the interview, what the letter from the embassy would look... read complete review

Everything was super easy. I was worried like crazy but for no reason. Everybody is very friendly and the interview was really quick.
Questions asked: - How did you meet your fiance?
- Did he visit you in Germany?
All I can say to everybody who still will have the interview: Don't worry!

The interview went really smooth and the officers were really friendly. I am happy to say that my visa-journey was extremely easy and quite fast so far.

Easy experience. Wife skipped the long line, went to immigrant visa line. She arrived at the consulate about 9am and the scheduled time was 1030am. The whole process took 1 hour and she was treated with respect (sadly I should not have to mention anything of how she was treated, but too often the US government employees treat people very poorly).
Staff was friendly, spoke to her in German.
To those going soon to their interview: Don't worry about a thing.
Good luck to all involved in the process.

I had my interview on March 28, 2014 I arrived at the consulate in Frankfurt at 7:30 am and my interview was at 8:00 am.
There was already a small amount of people standing in the line for "non-immigrant" Visas but since I had a K1 Visa I had to go in the line for "All others" (if you don't know where to go, there is always an officer standing in front of the lines and guide you also in which line you have to go)
in my line was only one girl in front of me and after one minute I was going to the window and I gave my invitation letter and my passport to the lady behind the window.
She then handed me a ticket with a letter and a number on it.
Then I had to go through the security check, very easy and quick, everybody is really friendly!
After that I went to the next building (you have to walk from the security over a small path to the next building (outside).
When you go inside this buildi... read complete review
