interview was supposed to be at 11am , they let me in at 10am , waiting in line for about 1 hour, then at a first window a First Lady asked for : DS160 confirmation, police certificate, 2 photo ID, and appointment confirmation with address to send back the passport
And she gave me back the approved i129f with the pictures. She told me to go sit and that they would call my name for the interview

After just 5 or 10 minutes I was called by a lady , she asked me where did we meet , when did we decide to get married, when do we plan to get married. Asked to show some of my favorite pictures. She then just looked quickly over w2 and letter of employment and gave them back to me. She types some stuff on her computer and told me we were approved and would receive the passport back with an envelop within a week.

My status on CEAC is now "issued"and expect to receive it probably in a day or 2.

She didn't ask for : letter of intent to marry o... read complete review

Good experience overall. Very few people were there today so it was overall fast. Mainly us citizens and few other visa applicants.
My appointment was at 10:45, I went through security check at 10:15 and got in line to give my document to a lady behind a booth soon after.
I was told to then sit and wait for my name to be called, 30 min later I was called to booth 8, an asian officer ask me to raise my right hand and tell only the truth to which I did.
He asked me around 8 to 10 different questions:
- So you are getting married soon?
- How did you two meet and when ?
- Have you been to the US ?
- Did she meet your family?
- Did you meet her family?
- When was the last time you guys were physically together and when?
- Did you travel together ? And where?
- Do you have any pictures of you both?
- Which photo is your favorite and why?
- Where was this photo taken?
And that was it ! He... read complete review

Very good experience. Our interview went really smoothly, the CO was very friendly and nice. It only took 10' and the questions he asked were very easy: just told him about our relationship. And at the end, we're approved and should receive our visa within 1 week.

I can't get over how unprofessional my interview at the american consulate was.

The first step is to go a first booth, where they check documents before the interview.
They only asked for my passport, pictures, my marriage certificate, my birth certificate and my DS 260 confirmation page (which is about 1/10 of all the documents I had brought, not to mention copies and translations. But I can't really complain about this)
The lady I talked to didn't like my marriage certificate from Denmark. She didn't say it to my face but she talked about it with her colleague, saying how those weddings were Las Vegas style, and how this document was not super reliable.
Then she told me my birth certificate was too old. They needed one dating from less than 6 months. I was surprised because I have never read this anywhere. It's not mentioned on the official interview checklist PDF for exemple. What was mentioned though, is that they needed the original documents... read complete review

I came for a K1 visa interview on Sept 4. It was the earliest date I could pick when I scheduled it on May 28.
My appointment was at 11am, I arrived at 10:50 at the bag check outside the consulate.
A woman asked to see my appointment confirmation letter, passport and sealed medical enveloppe.
Then I went through security, had to turn off my phone and leave it there with my other electronic devices and my tube of hand cream..
I walked in the consulate and had to line for 25 min until I got to a window for an administrative review : the woman made me confirm some basic information, took the appointment confirmation letter, passport, sealed medical enveloppe and asked for the birth certificate, police certificate, 2 ID pictures and a letter as my fiancé emailed then wrote a letter to the consulate and asked for an extension of our expired petition as we were not able to schedule the interview before that. I was given a whole copy of the petition file, even wit... read complete review
