I went for my interview to get my CR1 Spouse visa.
They visibly had an IT problem this day so the line was very long and we couldn't sit.
I waited in a first line to give my papers, then in a second to give my fingerprints and finally in a last one for the interview. Because the line was very long, the girl that took care of my fingerprints also ended up doing the interview. She was very nice and only asked simple questions :
- How much time did you spend in the US the last time ?
- When did you move back to France ?
- When did you get married ?
- Where is your husband ?
- What is he doing there ?
The interview was in English but I know that at some other desks, they were also speaking in French.
I worried a lot because the last time I went to the US I over stayed but she didn't go deep in this and just told me my bar was other anyway and remove it on my folder.

Background: My husband JB (beneficiary) and I (petitioner) MG live in France. Instead of using a joint-sponsor, we used our assets to meet the income qualifications. We received our CC from the NVC without any troubles. But received a checklist advising just to bring a joint-sponsor if our income didn't meet the requirements.. So to be safe we brought a back up joint-sponsor AOS form/supporting documents to the interview.

Arrived 15 mins before our 10am appointment. Security looked inside our bags, told us to turn off our phones. Security removed our water bottles and disposed them. Once they said ok. A lady asked to the see the ds-260 confirmation form, passport, and police report. JB pulled those out, she gave them back stuffed inside the passport. Asked if I (MG) was the petitioner and for my passport as well. Returned my passport, advised us to head on into the Embassy.

My interview was at 10 a.m. but as I read on the reviews here they don't let anyone in too ahead of time, I only went at 9.45 a.m.
I went through a first security check-point outside, and handed out my passport, medical sealed, DS-260 and criminal record. I was given everything back to me and got inside.
There, I went through a second security check. They take all your electronics and give you a badge/number to get them back when you get out.
Once inside, I was showed to get in line. There was quite a few people (I think about 10) in front of me but everything was awfully slow despite most windows being open. I waited more than an hour to get to the first window.
At that first window they took my fingerprints and checked my documents. They already had originals for most of the documents so I really didn't have to bring all this with me and they gave me all the copies back. My interview was at 11:45 and I was out of the embassy at 12:20. I spent more time waiting on the line than the interview itself. I brought all the documents asked (affidavit of support, proof of relationship, letter of intent to marry, etc.) and at the end they only asked for my birth certificate, DS-160, police record, medical record from my visit the previous day and pictures (US passport size), that's all. During the interview, that lasted about 10 minutes, he asked me 3 questions:
- Tell me about your relationship ;
- Where does your fiancé live ?
- Does your fiancé work ?
The person doing the interview was really nice, he congratulated me at the end and told me they'll send by mail my visa in 10 business days.
