My wife attended her interview and she was told that we both had to return for another interview together. They scheduled our interview for the 24th of December. They separated us and questioned my wife and then they question me. The consulate officer was not too mean but he did get down to business and questioned us everything from our first kiss to our first date. In the end, he told us to wait and fifteen minutes later we were told we were approved. The El Salvador Embassy is very hard to work with and you have to be very prepared when going to the inverview. Take pictures, letters, phone records and anything that you may have from the first day. DO NOT go unprepared. God bless everyone who has helped us to be together. Including this site

Working with the Salvadoran Embassy has been interesting. They always conduct two interviews, one week apart. At the first interview, my fiance was asked to present additional co-signer support at the second interview. My parents provided a second Affidavit of Support (I-134), but since we had only a week, the documents were scanned, sent by email, and printed by my fiance. He attended his second interview and was told that everything was in order, his visa was approved, but he needed to provide the original documentation of the second I-134 in order to receive the visa. He didn't complete the final steps of the process which are: paying $13 for the visa to be sent and getting fingerprinted.
We sent the original I-134 form directly to the embassy and it was received a week later. When I called the Call Center (horrible, cold, robots of people), they told me processing time takes at least 45 days and I should call back then. All of our plans had been made for the following month,... read complete review

Money, Money, Money..... I leave this review for those of you trying to find information on the visa process and the red tape you must abide by. First of all, being an American War Veteran means nothing, so erase that from you mind and mentality immediately. Second, with the current economy make sure you have at the least (withouth using a lawyer) at least three or four thousand dollars to spare for the "filing fees, pictures, translations, etc.etc.etc." Just know you are being punished for going about your spouse visa the correct way while so many illegals can freely roam our streets day and night. Ok, now for the embassy review... 2 Interviews, the first for submitting documents and for your spouse to deal with the jealous, extremely rude and overweight local latin person in control of her/his documents they submit. 99.9% of the time regardless of your income or previous years income, your spouse will be told they need a joint sponsor and form I-864A... Never in my life have I dealt... read complete review

My fiance and myself have had a pleasant experience with the embassy in El Salvador. However, I'm not a fan of the Visa Processing Center in Mexico, as every time I call, I get different information, that is unreliable and insufficient. To add salt to the wound, you have to prepay with credit card before you can speak with anyone. It's a far cry from excellence in customer/citizen services.
