We arrived at the US Embassy by 7 and we were let in by 715. Our number was called and we went to the window with a very nice Egyptian woman. She explained to us that our petition did not arrive however we need to fill our paperwork so that they can conduct the interview. We did the paperwork and they called Hamdi to do his fingerprints. Then we were called to the window for the interview. She was a very nice American woman. She said this was very hard to do the interview without the paperwork from NVC, however she asked many questions. Where did you meet your wife? Did you have a wedding? Was your wife married before? What do you have in common with your wife? Does she have family? In the end she said we have to wait fo the paperwork to arrive and asked about the civil marriage certificate. We married at the time the embassy did not give out the paper for "free to marry" so we had to go through the lawyer and have it approved by the Egyptian court system. She had never s... read complete review

Okay so Ahmed said the interview went fine. The interviewer guy asked how we met and some questions about his medical exam and my insurance but basically that was it. I guess about half way through the interview the guy handled him back ahmed's passport rightfully ahmed asked what was wrong? The guy said nothing and that we are approved they just have to do some "administrative processing". What a bunch of freaking BS! Our package was flawless and I and not just tooting my own horn seriously it was flawless! So ahmed is suppose to wait three weeks for a phone call...but we all know 3 weeks in egypt is more like 2 months international time, right?! I don't just understand why they are wasting people's time and giving them false hope?! Be honest with us right we are all adults we can handle it. So what now? I am willing to opinions...really anything right now...I am in my angery destructive phase as of now, so anything will be good right now. Oh yeah and I am giving them a 2 because ahme... read complete review

Usama arrived early at the embassy and they had everyone line up in two lines. One for the immigrants and one for visitors.

Once inside, he was called to the counter once to give his passport and pay the DHL fee, once to have his fingerprints taken, and finally to talk to the interviewer.

They had lost his passport photos, but my husband happened to have two extra ones with him (love that man). They asked him 4 or 5 questions (how did you meet, what are her children's names, etc.) and then told him congratulations, you will receive your visa in 3 or 4 weeks. He was there about 5 hours start to finish.

As long as we receive the visa in the next four weeks, we are happy with our experience at Cairo.
