Once upon a time we fell in love... Our journey began... And on these tropical days...
Our interview was for 10/10/2012 8:30 AM.
We were worried about parking so we drove around the day before to checkout the parking situation. We spoke to the parking attendant of the one behind the gas station next to the consulate and he told us to be able to get a spot to come early. So we did, we were there at 6am sharp. Parking cost $150.00 DOP pesos.
There was only one line so we went straight to it, across the street the buscones kept shouting for the people that had 8am interviews to wait across the street. We decided to stay on the line and that if the "info guys" from the consulate took us out that we would go to straight to the line in the back end. No waiting anywhere but the line for us. To our relief the let us through. We got number 263. We were inside at around 7am.
We sat and waited, at around 7:45 they called us for the passp... read complete review

Our interview was on Oct.3, 2012 @6:45. We arrived at the consulate around 6:35 am I knew we didn’t have to be there at 5 am as I read many reviews here on VJ. We were asked to get in line #2 and a couple of minutes later an Consulate worker with a shirt that stated INFO on his back asked for our interview letter and handed us Magic Number 374. Once the line continued to move the men and women were separated and went thru the security check. At which point I had to go back outside because I bought with me a USB flash drive and I had to get rid of it. Luckily I didn’t have to wait on the long line again. We were inside at about 7:15 am. After a while were where called to window #27 were we were asked to submit forms 156, 156k, 157. The girl asked us IF WE HAD ANY CHILDREN IN COMMON? We both stated NO. She asked us to go to window 15 and pay the VISA fee and come back to her with the receipt. After that were seated again for about an hour. Were where then called to line 1... read complete review

Our visa was approved. We were told by the agent that there is a administrative block that is very common because there are so many cases although this does not happen to everyone that we have to wait until it is cleared we still received the green slip and went to Domex to pay but until that is cleared out we cannot do anything else. Once its taken care of they will contact my husband so that he can go back with his passport and complete the process.. I will be adding a detailed review later on..

So today was the interview. My fiance woke up at 4am. I woke up at 5am. The interview was scheduled for 645am. We got there around 6 and all 4 lines were filled. The buscones approached us immediately to ask about our interview time and tell us all the things we couldnt carry inside. One lady mentioned makeup. After I looked at her like she was crazy she left me alone. There a lady across the street who were paid to keep our cellphones in a lock box cause u cant take them in. Not sure how long the wait was but it had to be hours. To fast forward. We got number 030. Waited. The called us up to hand in all the papers police certificate, ds230, 156, 156k, banco popular receipts, etc. More waiting. We paid the $80 fee. More waiting. Fingerprinting. Waiting. Interview. Now to the good part. The questions!
Do you reside in Dominican Republic? (To my fiance)
How long have you lived here?
Have you been in any trouble with the police here of in Haiti?
Do you have any ... read complete review

We got in line for our interview at about 6:15 and entered the building about 7am. The men got in a lot faster; women had purses that needed to get checked. At 7:30, we were called to window 17 to hand in the DS 156, 156K, 157, and 230. We also handed in his passport, one pictuere, and ID (cedula); the lady sent us to window 14 to pay right away. We took the receipt for hte $80 pack to window 17 and they told us to have a seat. It was a very long wait this time; he got me a water cup, a Gatorade and I think I may have even taken a nap for part of the time. At 9:30, he was called to window 15 for his finger prints. We sat down for another 10-15 minutes and we were called up for the interview. That part was quick and simple--be honest. The officer at window 26 (middle-aged, blonde, American gentelman) asked me in English how we met. Then, he asked to see the photo albums, asked what jobs we both had and if any of his family would be attending the wedding. We answered and he sa... read complete review
