So today was the interview. My fiance woke up at 4am. I woke up at 5am. The interview was scheduled for 645am. We got there around 6 and all 4 lines were filled. The buscones approached us immediately to ask about our interview time and tell us all the things we couldnt carry inside. One lady mentioned makeup. After I looked at her like she was crazy she left me alone. There a lady across the street who were paid to keep our cellphones in a lock box cause u cant take them in. Not sure how long the wait was but it had to be hours. To fast forward. We got number 030. Waited. The called us up to hand in all the papers police certificate, ds230, 156, 156k, banco popular receipts, etc. More waiting. We paid the $80 fee. More waiting. Fingerprinting. Waiting. Interview. Now to the good part. The questions!
Do you reside in Dominican Republic? (To my fiance)
How long have you lived here?
Have you been in any trouble with the police here of in Haiti?
Do you have any children?
Have you ever been to the US?
Has someone ever applied for a visa for you before?
(To me)
Have you ever been married before?
How did you two meet?
Do you have any children?
What are your wedding plans?
(Thankful we printed off the banquet agreement yesterday.)
What type of work do you do in the United States?
Then we waited to pay the domex fee. It was that simple. We both had a ton of paperwork just in case. We were out at 11:15. Hopefully the other VJ members will have a similar experience. The hardest part is waiting.
