Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Appointment was at 8:30, we got there at 8 am. There was a long line for the non-immigrant visas and no one but us for the immigrant visa. Was let in right away and directed to window and asked to present passport and stamps. While at window, the lady began to ask questions about the relationship, she said that this was not the official interview, just some questions. Questions were general, like how long did we live together, when did we get married, etc. Directed to wait then called up to another window and was asked to sign second part of DS-230. Official interview consisted of questions mostly about father-in-laws co-sponsorship on AOS. Questions were not alarming or concerning, answered truthfully and that was that. I think they just wanted to make sure that we would be able to take care of ourselves. No problem, interview over. Whole process was over in 45 minutes.

Notes: We had diligently prepared copies/originals of everything we had sent it, and they did not wan... read complete review

There is pay parking for several hours on the street right outside, the US embassy is the one that looks formidable with lots of barbed wire and security things.
We arrived a little too earlier for our appointment, but went to go stand in line at 8:30am (appt at 9). We were the only people in the immigrant/USC line. They called us up to the security as soon as they were ready. Then we went in the visa waiting room. We had to submit a lot of our paperwork at Window G (for immigrant visas) because we skipped the NVC, then we paid the IV fee at Window X with US dollars, and waited for the actual interview by the CO. The CO seemed to be asking as a formality but he asked questions about dates in our relationship, how long we lived together before getting married, things about both of our occupations (or lack there of in the USC's case), whether family members had visited us, etc. When it was all done we got a 221g pending our medical results as we had only done the medical th... read complete review

My interview was scheduled at 8:30, but I wanted to be sure to be there on time and I wasn't sure how long it would take to get to the embassy from my hotel, so I arrived around 7:45. There was already a line in front of the embassy...just one line...but thanks to visajourney I knew there had to be 2 lines, but I thought maybe I was the first for the immigration line then. I asked the security guard and he showed me where I should be. It was cold, rainy and windy, and I left without an umbrella or anything, so I really hoped they would let me in fast.

After waiting for 10 mins the guard told me that they wouldn't let me in before 9.... Seriously are you kidding me!!! I left and found a place where I could get some sort of shelter from the rain and waited there for half an hour.

By 8:30 I went back to the embassy, and waited in front of the immigration sign again... 10 mins later the guard called me in. They checked under my shoes and did the usual "airpor... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My interview appointment was at 9.00 am July 30th. I took a SJ night train from CPH at 22.00 and arrived in Stockholm central station at 6.30 am. There was plenty of time, so I decided to walk to the Embassy. It was about 3 km walk and took me around 30 minutes. Though I stopped to sit on a bench at the harbor and enjoyed the morning sun and fresh air for a while

Got to the Embassy at around 8.20 am, there was about 25-30 people in Non-immigrant line and only 2 people in the immigrant line. After waiting in line for 5 minutes, I was let in through a security house with airport-like security screening. I left my phone there and they gave me a ticket, so I could retrieve it later.

I got inside the consular section, a lot smaller than I had pictured. There were about 40-50 people in there, the place was pretty packed with non-immigrant visa applicants ( mostly young people). I was told by the guard to proceed directly to window G for immig... read complete review
