The process is not clear and it seemed like organized chaos. We had an appointment for 11:30 a.m. but waited in line in the small park until almost noon then were led to wait in another line outside the embassy for another hour. Then we were directed to enter the embassy, which was really an exterior screening area but there were no clear instructions about what to do next so we organized our papers and waited (wasted) another hour unnecessarily. Finally we realized we should enter the screening area and waited another hour to hand our documents to a woman at a window, who also took my Cuban fiancée's fingerprints. Then we were allowed to enter the actual embassy and waited for 3 hours to be interviewed. It was awkwardly quiet inside and the Cubans were visibly stressed and worried by the whole process. It seemed that most were denied and left the embassy upset and frustrated. Watching them made our wait seem almost unbearable! At almost 4 p.m. we were literally the last people inter... read complete review

Interview Day was poorly handled by the Embassy. Arrived at 6 AM. First we were turned away because they said our appointment was not that day. Only after I showed a letter I requested from the embassy confirming they changed our appointment date, did they let us in (10:30AM). Then they "misplaced"/forgot about my fiance's documents at intake and had to be reminded by a rest-vested lady that we were still waiting. Then finally, they took our evidence after scrambling to find our documents. Then we entered the Embassy (11:50am) and had to wait for their lunch hour. Then they interviewed my fiance (1pm) and declined to interview me! Then they put us in AP, and did not give a reason. We left at 1:30PM.
*I have since appealed to the help of my Congressman who looked into our case and said it was being processed normally in AP so still waiting for the result.

I'm writing this review in hopes that it can help some people along the way of such long journey. First of all, Cubans are very fearful of this process, which we should be because it's just hard to know what the Consular Officer will make your destiny to be.
My mother lives in the Eastern part of Cuba, so she had to travel to Havana ahead of time. She got there on Sunday January 24th. Thank God for our family and friends in the capital! They all have been very supportive of this process. DO NOT SEND your relatives to Havana without money if they're traveling from the interior part of the country. While I know money is tight with this situation, just know Havana is a big and expensive city unlike many of the small towns most of our relatives live in.

I personally made a copy of every single document I sent to the NVC and USCIS and sent it to my mom, along with the printed copies of DS-260, I-130, Receipt of all payments made, AOS form! I literally sent my mom in ... read complete review

I went to Havana to attend the interview with my fiancee. This Embassy is inundated with people every day, and crowd control and communication are serious problems. We stayed at a casa particular literally at the end of the block, within sight of the Embassy. We walked to the Embassy at 6:00 a.m. and were told to meet at at a small park which is located west of the building. Our appointment was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. The park was full of people, hundreds, at that early time. Finally at about 7, two women wearing red vests came and spoke to the crowd but with the noisy streets and crowd, it was impossible to hear their instructions. They did not use any type of loudspeaker or PA system. My Cuban fiancee spoke to other people and we figured out where to go...the women separated the crowd into two groups: Definite and Indefinite Visas. The Definite (permanent) Visa people were herded to the north side of the street. My fiancee told one of the red-vest women that I was there, a US citize... read complete review
