Our interview time was 10:30. We showed up at the park at 6am. Waited for the lady to call names. We listened and when your name was called you were to walk across the street and stand in a line. We waited till about 7ish to hear his name called. We went across the street and waited till about 8 - 8:30 when we were lead down the street to the entrance. They check your bags, and take pretty much everything except papers, and food. There is a store across the street that will hold your cell phone for the day for a small fee. We then went through the security line and sat in what was like a holding cell with about 20 other people. You wait until they call your name. You then go into the building and wait again where there are about 5-6 windows. They will call your name again. Ask you a few questions at the window and take the additional evidence. They also take fingerprints here, but they did not take my fiance fingerprints at this window. (don't panic). We then were lead into the buildin... read complete review

I have read several reviews and the process went as expected according to the reviews. This was perfect cause I knew what to expect. This was our experience at the Embassy.

You meet at the small triangle park early in the morning. We arrived around 6:45am our appointment was at 10:30am. Advised to be there by 6:30 am, I’m sure other people were there even earlier. Please be aware there is going to be a lot of people at the park for the Visas (Tourist and Permanent) in addition there will be companions which are not allowed to come in the Embassy. This makes the park look overcrowded with people. The lines are separated and you can ask and the people will tell you whether you are in the correct line.

As we were asking about which line or area we should stand in the “Ladies” with the red vest and list started to arrive. She explains to the crowd what she’ll be reading out and in what order. She starts reading from the first list ... read complete review

Well, the day is really long so I'd recommend eating breakfast and taking snacks/drinks (they'll allow it).

The day starts off at a little park in front of the embassy, the time of your interview depends on when you want to get there. IF you have an AM appointment, you want to be there by 6:30A (our appt was set for 1030A).

Then they separate the groups in 2 lines. One group - tourist visa on one side and other visas (indefinite visas) on the other. Note: just make sure you are on the right side, do not worry in what order you land in the line. There is an embassy worker that will start to call names, she will tell you where to stand to go into the embassy. Note: Do not worry if you are not called right away, we were the last name and the last group to be called into the embassy.

Once they start calling names you form a line on the opposite side of the street (the embassy worker directs you). Then they will ask for the US Citizens pa... read complete review

The process is not clear and it seemed like organized chaos. We had an appointment for 11:30 a.m. but waited in line in the small park until almost noon then were led to wait in another line outside the embassy for another hour. Then we were directed to enter the embassy, which was really an exterior screening area but there were no clear instructions about what to do next so we organized our papers and waited (wasted) another hour unnecessarily. Finally we realized we should enter the screening area and waited another hour to hand our documents to a woman at a window, who also took my Cuban fiancée's fingerprints. Then we were allowed to enter the actual embassy and waited for 3 hours to be interviewed. It was awkwardly quiet inside and the Cubans were visibly stressed and worried by the whole process. It seemed that most were denied and left the embassy upset and frustrated. Watching them made our wait seem almost unbearable! At almost 4 p.m. we were literally the last people inter... read complete review
