The CO was not friendly (at all) but she did nothing to be intimidating, just seemed like she was doing her work. She focused in the paperwork (barely looked at me during the interview). Her questions were: 1) How did you meet your fiance?, 2) When was the last time he visited you, 3) Does he speak Spanish?, 4? Do you have a valid US Visa?, finally she requested and went though all the pictures, bank statements, etc. I provided as proof of authentic relationship. The actual interview lasted no longer than 15 minutes. K-1 visa is approved!

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My wife to interview alone. She had to fly from Medellin to Bogota twice. Once to do her medicals. And then go back the next week for interview. She had all required forms. But at embassy they claimed because I did not have enough income on certain line on tax form they put her visa in administrative review. Since most of income is from the veterans affairs and social security it is non taxable and not included in taxable income. She had the awards letters from the V.A. and SS but would not even look at them. They did not even look of ask. And escorted her out of building. I did everything to get hold of them to explain the non tax income and my fiancée at the time had the award letter. I called Bogota embassy and lady that answered gave me a website to go to and said that she was allowed to let phone calls to go t to someone to explain what happened. Very poorly handled. I did everything I could to explain that I did not need cosponsor. I finally contacted my local congressmen offi... read complete review

It was overall, a good experience. For our kind of visas, I would like to share with you all the process we went thru with as many details as possible for those of you who love details. It was as follows:

We went (my American fiancé and I) to the interview together on a Friday. I had accomplished all the requisites the days before that:

1. I went to the lab to get my blood tests and chest X-ray done on Monday of that week at Instituto y Laboratorio Clínico. I got there just before 6:30 am (they start letting people in at 7 am), and there were already like 20 people in line; arrive early. Bogota was cold that morning so dress accordingly. Everyone stands in line until a lab assistant starts letting everyone in, without any companions (unless it is a group visa); she reviews the paperwork and lets you in if everything is ok. Please, do read all the material the embassy sends you and always call any place you intend to attend to confirm the necessary re... read complete review

Review Topic: General Review

We completed our CR1/married immigrant visa interview in Bogota,Columbia today. We will give you a general over of our process from the time we got the letter on 2-Feb-2018. Yurima was coming from Cuba so this will be based already their requirement. I will post a few needed link over the next few days to see the requirements to get the visa from Cuba to Bogota. The only challenge requirement is the $2000 average daily balance in your banking account. I used a copy of my 401K balance and they accepted it. I went to the Colombian Embassy in Washing DC( I live in Baltimore) and had a guarantee letter created in Spanish. The guarantee letter must have their seal and I had to DHL it to my wife, it takes 5 days. Yurima got her visit the morning she was flying. We are here for 9 days. 1 day before her first appointment and 3 days after he interview to pick up the visa. All te instructions you need are in this PDF. Make you doctor's appointment as soon as you can. They will not respond to a ... read complete review
