8-22-19: Interview at 8 am, arrived at the embassy at back entry on Cra 45, which was wrong. We were told to walk around to the front entrance and found a lot of people waiting on the street with documents in hand. 90% of them were there for Non-immigrant visas. There were 2 ladies at the front on the sidewalk answering basic questions and pointing people to the correct line (NIV and IV lines). Line 3 was for IV DS-260 applicants, and there was a checkpoint just outside the embassy gates at a small table where a lady had us pull out all the original documents that are necessary to proceed inside the Embassy. Once we passed there, the security officers scanned our belongings like at the airport, and then we walked down a sidewalk. The next step was to walk inside to a huge outdoor 'courtyard' where the Consular services take place. At the first station, another person sitting at a table quickly looked at our documents and checked us off a list and had us sit down to wait. We waited f... read complete review

Had an awesome experience. Our appointment was at 9:30 and they actually let us go in at 8:30. We had two checkpoints for documents and then was provided a turn to wait for the interview. We waited about an hour or so and then were called into to the window. The consular officer was very nice, smiling and all. She asked my husband the following questions:
1) Who was with him?
2) Asked what my name was
3) How did we meet?
4) Was it love at first sight?
5) How did he propose?
6) What was my occupation?
7) Where did I live?
8) Do I leave alone?
9) Was I born in the United States or naturalized?
10) How long have I been a citizen?
After that she said she need to review some docs. She gave my husband the domestic violence pamphlet to review while she checked something on the screen. Then she asked my husband his age and he responded that he was 25 and she explained that she was required to give him a... read complete review

INTERVIEW WAS SCHEDULE FOR JULY 18TH AT 8: AM, WE ARRIVED AT 6:50 AM, IT WAS VERY COLD AND IT WAS RAINING. WHEN WE ARRIVED THERE WERE ABOUT 3 GIRLS TAKING IN YOUR INFO AND HELPING PEOPLE ARRANGE THEIR PAPERWORK, AS SOON AS WE ARRIVED TO THE FRONT GATE THEY ASKED FOR OUR NAMES, AND TO OUR SURPRISE WE WERE NOT IN THE LIST... THAT WAS TRAUMATIZING... I WANTED TO CRY AND TO FAINT. MY FIANCE WAS VERY CALM BUT HE LOOKED DISAPPOINTED. WHEN THEY TOLD US THAT HIS NAME WAS NOT IN THE INTERVIEW LIST FOR THAT DAY, THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT LET US GO THROUGH, BUT THE FUNNIEST THING WAS THAT, THE DAY BEFORE HE HAD HIS FINGER PRINT DONE AT THE CENTRO DE ATENCION AL USUARIO, AND YOU CAN ONLY DO FINGER PRINTS IS IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AN INTERVIEW SCHEDULED, WHICH WE DID. SO WHEN HE DID HIS FINGER PRINTS THEY ISSUED AND STICKER THAT WAS PLACED IN THE BACK OF HIS PASSPORT, SPECIFYING THE DATE OF THE INTERVIEW AND THE TIME. SO WE HAD NO IDEA WHY HE WAS NOT PLACED IN THAT LIST. THEY TOLD US THAT WE NEEDED TO... read complete review

As I was asked, I will tell about my fiance's (and children) experience at the embassy at Bogota. They went to Bogota a week early because of the vaccinations and medical exams. Also she needed to obtain a police report and her son's school transcripts since he was recently graduated from high school. Her interview was about 45 minutes long. I couldn't attend do to my work requirements. She said the woman quizzed her very much about my family, my 4 sisters in particular, and very keen on my son's upcoming marriage, (apparently they do their homework and must have checked out my son's FB account. How else would they have known?). Many of the questions were regarding my sister's names and their status, (two are dead). They asked about who I work for and what is my job. They asked how long I was a HAZMAT tech and certified firefighter, (government certificates). So they were thorough about me. They asked her son what he wanted to do when he came to the US. His intent is to join the Navy ... read complete review

My girlfriend had her interview 7/8/19. What I'll share are the changes from I seen from previous interviews. First, the interview lasted nearly an hour. During the course of the interview she had to unlock and hand over her phone for inspection. The consulate officer looked through all her whatsapp message and questioned her about who each person was. They also looked through her social media apps and photos (FB and instagram). They asked her all the standard personal questions more than once by rephrasing the same questions. She brought a scrap book of pictures and receipts all of which was looked over. Our only problem was that they wanted her original birth certificate and a certified copy of my divorce papers. Otherwise, she was approved pending their receipt of these papers.
Side note assuming she arrrives here in two weeks, the whole process will have taken us 8 months.
