My Chinese fiancee's interview with her visa officer was about 15 mins.

how ever, the visa office didn't ask any of the evidence that we prepared (phone call history, photos, etc) , ONLY asked questions.

Interview with my Chinese fiancee:

1. Would you like to be interviewed in English or Chinese?

Answer: Doesn’t matter, whichever is fine.
2. How did you meet? and When?

Answer: We met at a concert in New York City on Sept 28, 2004.
3. When did you start this relationship after you met?

Answer: We officially began our relationship on April 23, 2005.
4. How old is your American fiance, the petitioner? What’s your age difference?

The entire process and experience at the Guangzhou Consulate was a pleasant one. There were no surprises or glitches. Everything went pretty much as outlined in the posts of members who had gone before. As with everyone else, the waiting was the worst part of the day. My lady and her daughter were, literally, the last people interviewed that day so the wait was in excess of 4 hours. there were no fingernails left when they came down from the 5th floor. My fiance told me that she was interviewed by a young woman who was very pleasant. She was asked 5 or 6 of the usual questions and then asked to ready one of our letters aloud and in English. This was to prove that we could communicate. After reading 3 or 4 lines the visa official said, "Thank you. You pass." Life was good!

Review Topic: Other Experience

The only issue is that my husband is German and does not speak Chinese. The signs, directions, and intercom announcements are in Chinese. I incorrectly assumed since he is immigrating to the USA; and interviewing with the US State Department at the US Consulate that English would be the primary language and Chinese the secondary language. It was helpful to have our Chinese friend there to translate Chinese into English at the USA Embassy. The interview, thankfully, was completed by an American in English. The interview was the least difficult part of this experience.

My lady's interview was on the 27th of September and the process up to the interview was not bad at all. She got some questions asked, did the interview in English and she got her pink. Now this is the part I am upset about.

Its been 2 weeks since she got her pink and still no visa. Chinese National Day took away some business days. So hopefully she will get it this week. Not sure what is going on.

Just a heads up, don't make any travel arrangements until you have the visa back in hand. The Guzinator is full of surprises.
