Document intake was on may 2nd.
We got to the consulate at around 12, they are supposed to let people in at 12:30. When we got there, there were a lot people already in line. We were practically last in line, so I was expecting a long wait until my fiancée comes out. My fiancée told me while she was giving them the documents, the officer asked couple simple questions like if she is a ccp member, who was the petitioner and such.
May 3rd is the day of the interview, we got to the consulate at around 6:50, and we are middle of the pack. They were supposed to let people in at around 7:30. We waited in Guangzhou's humid weather until like 8, they still weren't letting people in, and I was sweating my butt off. Then it started raining, oh great I thought to myself, this is gonna be a great day.
At close to 8:30 we were finally able to get in. So I took a seat at the 4th floor cafe, while my fiancée went to the interview hall on 5th floor. A lit... read complete review

Overall it is a good experience for my wife. I didn't go back to china to accompany her for the interview. During preparation, I found a Chinese forum website for US immigration visas. It has some useful information, but some of them might not up to date, so you have to check the dates of posts.

She arrived Guangzhou two days before the appointment document intake date. Since she has a friend lives close to the consulate, so didn't have to worry about lodging.
Took the medical exam next day. Very similar to the experience in ... read complete review

Very straightforward process.
Day 1: form submission and fingerprinting
Day 2: interviewer with questions
Questions were:
How did you two meet?
How did you fall in love?
What does your fiance do in the states?
Have you been to the US before?
Who is your co-sponsor?
The interviewer asked to see our pictures, we had put together a mini album of our pictures in the recent 6 months (after we submitted the K1 application) which I think is helpful for them to see that we are continuing our relationship.
S said the whole interview took about 5 minutes after hours and hours of waiting.
