Review done by my wife below, written from her perspective:

7:00 am Arrive consulate (Zhujiang New Town Subway Station Exit B1, an escalator out of the ground to go up, you can see the consulate building), there is a small building in front of the consulate entrance security screening, immigration interview on the building entrances far left, there are signs, where people lined up, it is easy to find. Because early, so many people are waiting in line at the entrance.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

They were finished a little before 11:00 am. Their "interview" took no more than 5 minutes. They handed over their medical packets and my tax returns, swore an oath, signed a document, and answered 4 perfunctory questions. Then, visa approved! Questions were: (1.) How did you meet? ("My sister introduced us"). (2.) How often have I visited her in China? ("7 times"; I gave her my passport right before the interview so she could show I was with her in Guangzhou). (3.) Do I (husband)speak Chinese? ("A little" - fortunately she did not have to elaborate further). (4.) There was one other similar question but she can't remember it. There were no follow-up questions. We brought a mountain of evidence(photos, QQ transcripts, etc.) but none of it was asked for or used. The interviewer was courteous; he was an American who,... read complete review
