Interview day was good. My appointment was at 9am Apr 24. We booked a room at Marriott the day before. Went there at 730am on Monday but got turned away and got told to come back at 845 and so I did. People with backpacks got turned away. All electronics are checked in at security. There was a line up, after all the security check, I made it up to the waiting room by 9:15. Got called at 930 for document checks. Then waited for an hour before i got called for my interview. my interview lasted 10 mins. the biggest question for me was proof of domicile. i basically just explained to her what steps and plans we took to reestablish domicile. 5 mins worth of explaination. After that she told me that my visa was approved and handed me the "welcome to usa" flyer and said that visa will be available in 2 weeks. I checked CEAC status right after my interview and my status was changed from "READY" to "Issued".

Review Topic: K1 Visa

***** I would like to start this review off by saying: Make sure to tell the person that scans your DS160 at the front door of the Embassy that you are there for a K1 Visa Interview. And make sure you receive your laminated K1 Visa checklist sheet and interview number at the front door from that same person who scanned your DS160 ******

I will explain why in my review.

So like many others, my fiance and I read many of the VJ reviews of the K1 Visa interview process in Montreal.

My fiance (Canadian citizen) and I (US citizen) had our interview at 7:45am. We arrived at 7am, and saw no line. There is a Starbucks on the opposite corner of the Embassy, so we decided to grab a coffee and wait. At about 7:30am, we noticed several people with plastic file folders walking in-front of the Embassy. So, we decided to make our way to the Embassy front door.

There was one gentleman in line ahead of us, as we were second in line. The... read complete review

I parked directly across the street from the consulate, it cost $20 but well worth it. Upon arrival, I was told I was too early, you cannot show up more than 15 minutes before your interview time. I waited in my car then went in 15 minutes beforehand. I saw the greeter first, she was pleasant and took my interview confirmation letter, the my passport on which she placed a sticker. I went through security (you cannot bring in a cell phone, if you do they will keep it until you leave) They also kept my remote for my car.

I was then guided through the doors to the left and told to go to the elevator and then up to the 19th floor. I did and entered a large room with chairs. There were huge windows with amazing views of Montreal. The chairs faced windows in a wall which is where the employees worked.

I was given a number and waited for it to be called. The first time it was called was to provide my documentation. I already had everything in order including a fe... read complete review

Had my interview March 28th, 2017. Arrived at the consulate 30 mins ahead of time but was turned away because everyone was at lunch and was told to return at the time of my appointment. Went through security, do not bring backpacks you will be turned away and any electronics will be kept with security. I was told to speak to an employee to receive a "ticket" a laminated paper with a number and how they want your documents sorted. I then went through a scanner and had my belongings scanned. Was escorted up the elevator by security and was told to sit in the waiting room until my number was called. In total I was there for 2 hours. Staff was very friendly and professional.

Very simple, interviewer was very nice. Just make sure to bring everything and arrive about an hour early. I was done in about 45 minutes, I was booked for an 8:30am and there was a lineup of about 25 people waiting outside before they opened the doors, most of them were going for a K-3 Visa though.

Also do not bring any backpacks or purses with you, they will tell you to find somewhere else to store it as there is no storage there for personal items.
