I had my interview July 5th and had a lovely experience.
Firstly a huge thankyou to all those that came before me; I probably got more information from this forum/community than I did from the packets/consulate information.

You aren't allowed to bring any bags with you, and since I was using public transit I opted for the lockers available at Eaton Place ( a mall). Its only 2 blocks away and right as you come out of the McGill Metro station. You can find the lockers at the food court - bottom level- opposite the bathrooms and right beside the Aqua Fish food vendor. It costs a loonie and can store a gym-sized duffle until the mall closes at 9:30pm.

After storing my backpack and water bottle, I kept a shopping bag with my medical results and documents in an accordion folder. If you DO need to pick up medical results the day of your interview, both offices are within walking distance of each other, so it should be very do-able. Once I reached the consu... read complete review

I was able to go into the embassy 45 minutes early without any issue. Once I arrived, I was told that my courier service wasn't setup and that I needed to call in to fix that.

Once inside, there was no one to give me the laminated number. So I went up and spoke with someone that referred me to counter 1. There, they gave me a number and took my documents. I don't recall the order correctly, but here is what they took in the order that I can remember:

1. Birth Certificate

2. Marriage Certificate

3. Police Clearance

4. Medical Records (they gave me back the CD that was inside)

5. I-864

6. Wife's 2016 tax return (photocopy)

7. I-864a

8. Father in laws 2016 tax return (photocopy)

9. Wife's naturalization certificate (because I didn't have a photocopy of my wife's passport to which the lady at the counter sai... read complete review

We spent the weekend enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes of Montreal leading up to the Interview.

I have done several Consulate Report of a Birth Abroad in Calgary so I was familiar with the security process or so I thought. It was same basic rules as the Calgary one but way way more relaxed and casual. Being familiar with the process we simply left our cell phones and anything that was not allowed at the hotel. But unfortunately we forgot the car keys so we had to check them in until after the interview.

I (the petitioner) had basically done 98% of the prep with paperwork up to this point. I took the advice of many here to organize everything with sticky tabs...That is key to success!!! So my wife and I went over everything a couple times the evening before.

One of the questions she asked me about the night before on how to answer was about if she has ever been denied entry. I didn't think it would be an issue as it doesn't effec... read complete review

The consulate was quick and efficient . Our apt was at 9 am and we got there at 8:30 and we're asked to go through security with no issues . We waited 10 minutes for document check and then another 10 for interview . The interview wa was 10 minutes we were done and approved by 9:15 .
The interviewer was all business but very personable. All in all an easy process provided you are organized and have followed the rules and requirements.
