I had my interview on August 9 and had a great experience. As others have mentioned, I took the 747 bus to and from the airport and for $10 (24 hour pass) and less than an hour of travel time, it really is the best way to get downtown. I came the day before to be sure I was there on time and got an airbnb 15 min walking distance away. Montreal is a very easy city to walk and get around, so don't worry about getting a place too close to the consulate. I did a practice walk the evening before to make sure everything went smoothly the next morning.

My interview was at 8am and I got there at 735 and was let in. No Starbucks for me, since I have a tiny bladder lol (there was a washroom upstairs though for anyone with the same worry). The woman to the left immediately after entering, looked at my interview confirmation I had printed, put a sticker on my passport and gave me a laminated sheet.. After that I went through the scanners and they stored my phone for me (I w... read complete review

Overall, good experience. We were greeted by smiles and friendly attitude at both windows for document review and the interview.

Piece of cake all the way!

Everyone from security to the interviewer were all very friendly, smiling, and comfortable people. It was all very casual. The total time spent at the consulate was just over an hour. You will be in a room with other people who are all experiencing the same thing! We had a great time chatting about our experiences, where we were going, and how we met our fiances. The staff made sure we were at ease.

They did not follow their own documentation, but as long as you bring what appears on Packet 4 you will be perfectly fine!

My appointment was for 8:30am and was allowed to check in no earlier than 8. I was given a laminated sheet with a number and a list of documents they required for me to get in the order they stated on the list. I then had to clear security just like at the airport. They then direct you down a flight of stairs to an elevator. In the elevator the only floor you have access to is 19. Once on 19 you wait until they call your number and tell you what window they want you at. They called my number at about 8:45am. At the window they asked for the paperwork they required (passport/long form birth certificate...etc.). They told me that the would keep the original for review and they would be returned to me during my interview. I was then instructed to have a seat and wait for my number to be called for the interview portion. They called my number at about 9:30. The guy who interviewed me was very business like and respectful. Asked me some very general questions about my relationship a... read complete review

First and foremost, Thank you everyone for your reviews on this website. It has settled my heart immensely and prepared me for what turned out to be a very successful interview. Those of you preparing, take a look at all these reviews and TAKE NOTE! Be prepared! Know what to expect! This is long-winded, but for the person out there like me who wants to over prepare in order to create confidence, this is for you.

Our interview was on August 14, 2017 @9:30

We flew into Ottawa to stay with some friends, took a bus to Montreal the day before the interview, and arrived at our hotel. We stayed at the Hotel Le Dauphin. I highly suggest this hotel for several reasons (And no, I am not their spokesperson) Firstly, they had the earliest check in from my research, at 3pm. They also had the latest checkout, noon. When we checked out at noon, they stored our luggage for us in a closet so that we could walk around before our flight out, this is a big perk. Secon... read complete review
