My fiance and I arrived for my 730 am appt at about 7 am. There was one other guy in line ahead of us. We waited and chatted with him and a small crowd of people showed up after us. They opened the doors at 730 and let us in one at a time. The lady at the front takes uour passport puts a sticker on it and gives u your number. I was number 2. Then u go thru security just like an airport. You are told to go downstairs and organize your papers according to the list the lady gave u with your number. We had plenty of time to get them sorted. Once there was about 10 people in the room we were sent upstairs to the 19th floor and just waited till our number was called. Once they call your number u go to the desk and give your papers one by one. Make sure u have photocopies of everything. They take your fingerprints and ask u to wait for the interview. The interview took maybe 5 minutes in total. She was super kind and made u feel comfortable. I was asked where we met how often we see eachothe... read complete review

My son's interview was booked for 7:30am, mine 8:30am. We waited outside with a half dozen people or so after 7am. It was bitterly cold with temps around -20 with wind chill. My son and other small child started to really suffer. I was so happy the security guards came out around 7:15am to let the kids in. They were kind that way. As a result I unintentionally got moved to the front of the line and was #2 going in. I checked in my phone and was given a "coupon" to pick up after. Me, my son, the other father, his daughter and another person all went up the elevator to the 19th floor. We were the first ones to arrive. The consulate has an incredible view. There is a small play area for children and a couple of vending machines along with washrooms. I waited no more than a few minutes before my name was called to window #1. I submitted my son and my documents despite the difference in appointment times. I offered the tax transcript to which she took and she also took a copy of last years ... read complete review

This was a pretty straight forward process. My appointment was at 7:30.
I arrived at 7:10 since it will be based on first come first serve basis. They let us in at around 7:30. If you ever have to have your interview in the winter, dress warm! I had layers and so much on to stay warm since they only let you in one at a time.
You first show your passport, then they give you a number, then you have to go through security like at the airport.

After that you walk downstairs and wait until a good number of you can go up to the 19th floor.
You wait for your number to be called. By that point it was around 7:45am. I was #1 so it happened pretty fast.
If you have all your papers in the right order they tell you to, then it's so easy.

They asked for
1) Passport
2) 2 passport photos
3) original long form birth certificate
4) long form and short form marriage certificate
5) original police certifica... read complete review

Review Topic: General Review

Accommodations
I stayed at Le Square Phillips Hotel. Admittedly it is a little on the pricey side, but location-wise it is a 5 minute walk to the consulate.

I arrived earlier then expected on Tuesday and since my room was ready, they let me check in. They also gave me a later checkout the next day so I could rest after I got back from the interview. The hotel itself is quite nice, and the staff is very accomodating. There are also some nice added bonuses (including complimentary continental breakfast, as well as a gym and a pool).

The Interview
I had collected all of documents listed
for Packet 4. I also brought my DS-160 confirmation, copies of my fiancés ID, 2015 tax returns/W2, and some evidence of our ongoing relationship (none of these things were asked for).
I placed each document in a clear sleeve with a label, and used a binder to hold all of the sheets. I brought a small recyclable bag with me to hold the binder,... read complete review
