Interview was scheduled for 7:45 am on Nov 18. There was another person scheduled at that time as well so the officer only allowed one person at a time. I was asked to wait outside until called. Around 10 minutes later I was called inside, asked COVID questions, went through a metal detector and placed my files through an x-ray scanner. Once I took the elevator upstairs, i was asked to wait for counter 5, 6, or 7 to open up. Counter 7 opened, a very nice woman asked me for my documents (only originals - passport bio page, actual passport, long birth certificate, RCMP police check, 2x2 photo, and i offered her my court records). She then confirmed my address and phone number and I updated my wife's address and phone number. This process took less than 5 minutes. I was then asked to sit down until an officer was ready for me. About 20 minutes passed by and my name was announced on a loud speaker to come to counter 1. The a nice gentleman asked me questions in regards to our marriage (whe... read complete review

Had my interview today and it was a great experience.
Do not show up early you will be turned away. Arrive as close to (within 5 mins ) or exactly at your appointment time.
You will go through airport like security. Do not have backpacks etc. Just documents and what’s needed. They will take your phone and in my case Apple Watch and put it in a tiny locker and give you a key.
You are asked to check in where they take your passport and ask you to take a seat. You’re then called up again and they start requesting the documents and go through that with you and lastly proceed to finger print you. You will then be asked to take a seat again.
You are then called up to another window where your interview begins. You swear the oath, finger printed, and are asked questions. My interview with my interviewing officer was nice. It felt more like a conversation and it had a really nice flow. After about 10 mins he said everything w... read complete review

Got there at about 8:13 am for an 8:15 am appointment. There was one other person outside. A guard came out and was letting us in one at a time. They ask for your passport and then you put your stuff through an xray and walk through a metal detector just like at an airport but you get to leave your shoes on 😛 I forgot that my watch is an electronic device so I had to lock it up, heads up for people with smartwatches!Â
The consulate is on the first floor. The security guard told me to go to window 4 or 5 but both were busy so the guard upstairs told me to take a seat (seats are already spaced out but she wanted me as far away from everyone else as possible haha). There were only 2 other people there. I sat down and a few moments later a lady knocked on window 7 and asked if I had been served and I said I hadn't so she took my passport. When one of the windows became available the guard told me to go to it but the person at the window told me to wait un... read complete review

Our interview was conducted during the COVID pandemic, so it may be different from the usual.
The interview was scheduled at 10:30AM. If you arrive slightly earlier at the consulate, they will turn you away and tell you to come back at your exact appointment time. Don’t bring a bag because they won’t let you in with one. Only bring your documents in a folder or some sort of paper holder.
First was the security check where you go through inspection similar to airport security. After that they tell you to go upstairs where everyone waits for their appointment. You go to the officer’s window to give all the documents they need, including your passport. They’ll hold onto those until they call you up a second time to conduct your interview.
For us, the interview was very brief. How did you meet, what’s your job, are your addresses still up to date, very basic questions like that. Then they tell you you’... read complete review
