Hi VJ Fam! I wanted to write a lengthier review on my husband's interview experience at Montreal.

Husband's interview appointment was December 14th @ 9am ET.

He went inside around 8:55am ET, He was asked COVID related questions (any symptoms, traveled outside the country) and they checked his passport at the door before he was let in. Once entering, he proceeded to the first window. They took his passport and told him to sit down and wait to be called again. He was called back up to the first window after 10-15 minutes. At the first window, he was asked to provide his original documents:

- Police Certificates
- Marriage Certificate
- Birth Certificate
- 2 passport photographs

Surprisingly, they did NOT ask for my 2019 tax returns although my husband had those handy.

At the first window, they took my husband's fingerprints and he was asked to confirm his address, my addres... read complete review

The consulate shares an entrance with Royal Bank. My husbands appt was at 10:15 and we got there at 10:11.
Security check and then my husband handed his passport and waited 40 min to go up to the window to give his original documents.
They asked for his original documents: birth certificate, marriage certificate, police clearances, work permit (my husband is a temporary worker). They didn’t ask for my financial documents.

After another 10-15 min, he was called up to the window for his interview.
He was asked: how did we meet, describe your relationship before the wedding, when was the wedding, how many people attended the wedding, have you been to the US, what I did for a living, where he will be staying once he moves back and status in Canada. My husband lived in the US before so he was asked what he studied and specialized in.
At the end he was told that the visa was approved and the passport should arrive in 10 business days. The... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My appointment was scheduled for 8:45am. I arrived at 8:41am and was let in by the security guard. He asked me a series of Covid related questions and then asked me to wait until the person ahead of me was through security before moving through security. It was standard airport security, I didn’t use the lockers. I was directed to take the elevator to the 1st floor. Once I arrived I went immediately to window 5 to provide my passport and then told to sit and wait until my name was called.

There was 12 people in chairs when I first got there. At one point there were 18 of us and no longer any open seats (socially distancing considerations in mind). I think a lot of people had to wait well beyond their interview time to be let in by security downstairs because of that. It also seemed like most people spent considerably more time being interview. The woman who arrived just ahead of me must have been at the window for 20 minutes when it was her turn to interview. Th... read complete review
