Arrived there at 7:30 am. doors had just opened. grumpy lady in security was there, but all was good. went up at about 8 am. said to wait until 8:30 for window 14 to open, however it was opened at 8:10. got my number. waited for about a half hour until my number was called (I was the 5th person in line for a family related visa). I had lost my passport pictures and was in a panic but the nice lady told me not to worry that she would fix me up. Told me to go see Tony on Rue Ste. Catherine. It was a 5 minute walk from the consulate. I got there and Tony took my pics and I got back a half hour later and gave it back to the lady. 10 minutes later I was called for the interview. The nice man behind the glass asked me how we met. That is it!!

Interview was rather painless. Arrived 1 hour early (08:30 for my 09:30), and was processed immediatly.
Went very quickly.
- Security downstairs - just like the airport
- Elevator up to the 19th floor
- Get a number
- Get called to a window - show them your appointment letter -
- Go to the cashier window, pay $100.00 US cash
- Go right back to the previous window
- Submit original birth cert and copy, original divorce cert and copy, original police record no copy, medical without the x-ray (no one wants the x-ray BTW), signed letter of intent, affidavit of support, DS-156 and suppliment, passport ... i think thats it
- Go sit down and wait a few minutes for your number
- Go to the interview. was asked - where and how did we meet, when did we get engaged, why the states and not canada. (I answered the fabulous San Diego climate)
- She said everything seemed to be in order and handed me a slip to allow me to com... read complete review

The interview went well. It only took 2 hours from the time I got there till the time I left. They asked me a few questions like what my husband does, have I ever commited a crime, and where do I intend to live and why did I choose to live in the US. They took fingerprints and I came back the next day to get the visa.

My Interview experience was fairly flawless.
I was very concerned that I would require a waiver as I previously was married to a US Citizen back in 98 and basically lived there on and off for almost 5 years. I also worked as an independant contractor (courier) for about a year.
I remarried in 2005 to a US Citizen. (Total Coincidence)We started our process in April2005 and had on Interview April 19th 2006.
My husband flew from NY to Toronto and he and I drove to Montreal on Tuesday and hardly talked to each other we were so nervous. Wednesday was our interview. We arrived at the consulate at around 8:00am. We went straight to the 19th floor and to the window to collect our number. When our number was called (at around 9:15am)we went to window 11 (I think) and the lady asked us for my passport, and if I had another police certificate as the one I had originally submitted was dated Oct05. Thankfully I had my RCMP certifica... read complete review

Wow...It was so simple, they only asked me the date we were married, the location of our wedding and where my husband lived. I was prepared for anything, with copies of everything in triplicate and all they asked for was my medical, marriage cert, police cert and birth cert. I was very impressed, I arrived a little after 7 and was one of the first people let in at 7:30 when they opened the doors. Everyone there was very nice, esp the people waiting for their interviews.
