I better get this done before I forget.

Arrived in MTL airport at 22:30. There is a shuttle that you takes you downtown. I think it was $14 dollars and you can catch it at stand #5 or was that 9? See I'm forgetting things already. Anyways, it's a nice big a/c bus but if your not staying at one of the 3 hotels it services directly then you get dropped off at the bus station and have to catch a smaller bus to take you directly to your hotel. It's fine if you aren't in a hurry and want to economize.
Arrived at the Days Inn Downtown on Rene Leveque. This is the newer of the two Days Inn downtown. Rooms are small but nice, new and clean. Checked in then asked which way to the consulate and how far. Clerk said it was a 10 minute walk, about 5 blocks. Headed out to find it. This was now about 11ish at night. I felt perfectly safe walking alone in Montreal. The Jazz fest was going to be starting the next night so there was lots of people milling around ... read complete review

Apparently the room that you have to sit in before the interview is very small, stuffy, and there are no magazines or anything like that. The interview was scheduled for 1 PM, but they were backed up by about two hours. The interview itself took about thirty minutes; my fiance said that he didn't feel any pressure or harrassment on the part of the interviewer.

They made him throw his backpack (which I told him not to bring, but whatever) into the bushes outside of the consulate and it was stolen.

staff were very friendly there, other then needing a new copy of my husbands divorce and full finger prints visa was approved after papers were sent and visa was mailed out.

Arrived Montreal Consulate at 7:10 AM ... second one there.
Beauitful Day 25C

Doors Opened 7:30AM ... I was first in .. only let two in at time.
asked for my appointment Letter and passport.

Security gentleman took a second look at the plastic expandable file folder I had full of Information. He looked at the other security and she said it is ok.
He sent it into a xray scan and the third security person said its ok ..

He proceeded to due a typical security entrance process other than they wiped down my passport with a white round pad and took it to a machine ( think snif for explosives..residue)

He asked me to walk thru scanner and then took a hand scanner to finish the job.
he handed me a small white square " A" and said this is for later for window 9, you are first up.

But first go sit down in the chairs down the steps in front of the lower floor elevators.. and wait for a securi... read complete review

Had a 1pm interview on the 11th of June.

I'm from Ontario - I didn't transfer but somehow my interview ended up in Vancouver... It was well worth the money spent on airfare considering how quick it was! We stayed in the Travelodge in North Vancouver. NOT downtown, but within a short ($10) cab ride to downtown. Checked out the Aquarium, the suspension bridge, Science World and a large portion of downtown.

INTERVIEW
Arrived at 12:45, went up to the door on the aforementioned incredibly not American embassy looking building. The lady there told me my interview wasn't until 1 and to come back then. Okaaaay. So fiance and I went and sat down on some benches just on the other side of the embassy. Two other couples showed up (I later learned both K3s) and went right in. So I went back up, previous lady was gone and new ones let me right in... of course, now I was last in line. Thanks lady! Security check was easy, as I kn... read complete review
