I had my interview on September 3rd, 2021. I got to the consulate by foot but if you plan to drive, make sure to adjust expectations because there's a LOT of construction at the moment that makes driving a little bit tricky. I was COVID screened and then asked to put my electronics into the small locker. It turns out I could have brought a purse (there were others in the waiting room with bags and purses) but all I had on me was my wallet and my phone, plus my paperwork, so I just popped my wallet and phone into the locker. The waiting room is pretty spacious, but the wait times were incredibly long. I dropped my passport off at the first desk, waited about 45 minutes, and then was called up to the window where I was asked for my birth certificate, marriage certificate, and spouse's proof of income. They did not ask for the 2019 proof of income, only the 2020, which we had not uploaded onto the site, but luckily I did have it with me so that was fine. I was not asked for any other docu... read complete review

Interview went really well.
i got there at 10am and was out at 10:45am.
I was first called to a window where this lady asked couple documents and passport.
Then, they made me sit in the waiting room.
i was again called to a second window where the interview would take place.
the guy asked about my job, how i met fiance, how long, his date of birth, his name his profession, if have ever been married before if i have kids and that was pretty much it. He then gave me the pink letter saying welcome to the USA and told me i am good to go he wll approve my visa!!! 45min looks like a long time but most of the time was spent in the waiting room other wise, i probably did 10 min at each wndow.

Great experience, easy process!

My interview was at 9:15am on Wed, Aug 25, 2021. I got to the consulate at 9am and there was already a line of 5-6 people. I stood in line and at exactly 9:12, the line hadn’t moved at all so I skipped the people in front to talk to an officer inside the building about my interview time and he told me to wait on the side. The other people in line had interviews for 9:30/9:45 when I asked them. At 9:14am, I asked the officer again and he let me inside after asking for my name to check on their list.

Went through airport style security and I was allowed to put my phone (turned off) and AirPods in a tiny locker (like the size of those community mailboxes). Locked it up and took the key with me. I didn’t bring a purse with me, only a giant clear zip file bag where I put all my docs, and wallet. I was told to see window 5 upstairs so I took the elevator to the consulate floor (marked on the elevator button pad). ... read complete review

A really easy experience. I was extremely nervous and anxious inspite of being well prepared with my application but believe me when I say there's no need to be!!

The security allows you to enter inside only on your appointment time and not before that. My appointment was at 10:15 and that's when they let me in.

You go through an airport security-like checkpoint. Put your documents in a bin that is x-rayed. Then you step through the metal detector and since I was not having anything on me other than my documents folder, I just had to go to the 1st floor, window 5.

I checked in at window 5, handed my passport to this lady who gave me a ticket and told me to have a seat. When my number was called I went to a different window and they asked me for the following documents:

- Proof of visa payment
- Color Photocopy of bio page of my passport
- Original and copy of beneficiary's birth certificate
- I-134 and su... read complete review

Overall a really easy experience that I was anxious about for no reason (and if you're anxious like I was - there's no need to be!).

As others have said, you go through an airport security-like checkpoint. Put your documents and bag/coat in a bin that is x-rayed. Then you step through the metal detector and a guard asks you to put your electronics into a little apartment sized mailbox locker and hang on to the key.

I checked in at window 6, handed my passport to the CO who gave me a ticket and told me to have a seat. When my number was called I went to a different window and they asked me for the following documents:

- Proof of visa payment
- Photocopy of bio page of my passport
- Original and copy of beneficiary's birth certificate
- I-134 and 1040 from 2020 (I did not have the tax transcript but 1040 was fine and they did not ask for any other financial documents)
- Police Certificate(s)
- 2 Passport ph... read complete review
