I would strongly recommend that you show up just five minutes before your interview. Once you find building 1134, stay as close to the glass door, as the embassy is on the left side inside and you can be spotted by the security guard.
Once you are let inside they will ask you when your appointment time is and your passport.
Afterward, you are mediately met with the security guard that asks you to place your jacket and all your belongings onto a tray. They don't make you take off your shoes.
Right at the corner there is a lockbox with keys attached, you take your cell phone and you put it in there I was able to take my wallet upstairs.
Take the elevator to level and go to window number 6, where you get a number and you give your passport and one passport photo (which you get back after the interview is over)
Depending on how many people came for you my interview was about 2 1/2 hours long and the interview itself wa... read complete review

I had my interview on Sept 27, 7:30AM. I am very glad to have been the first appointment in and out that day, as it took 40 minutes start to finish. Everyone there was very friendly (including security). As to not repeat other people's reviews, I'll keep the info to the point.
I was asked for the following documents (as we had a joint sponsor, as my husband is in medical school and therefore is not working):
- passport
- one passport photo
- birth certificate (original, long form)
- marriage certificate
- first two pages of my sponsor's taxes, and my joint sponsor's taxes (1040)
And I think that was it, to my recollection. I had brought far more documents than I needed! They were even patient with me when I got nervous and handed them the totally wrong document once.
For the interview and the pre-interview document collection, I was asked the following questions:
- when and where did yo... read complete review

Overall I am very please with my experience! I did have several bumps along this road but my Visa was granted today and I could not be happier!! They were very kind at the Consulate and during my interview. I needed further documentation which I send and it was approved very quickly. So very Thankful!

Alright so my appointment was set for 9:00am. This time means that they will physically let you enter the consulate at that time, not that you will be in front of someone at 9:00am. There was a line up of people outside, some of whom were 45 minutes early. I'm an anxious person, so I was one of those people. The thing is, it doesn't matter how early you are because security will not let you enter until your appointment time begins. So I went to the second cup and got a smoothie- this will probably be a saving grace for everyone with winter interviews!
At the time of your interview, they'll call forward anyone in the line with that time. At 9:00, myself and one or two other people came forward. You can enter the building but will be stopped between the doors by a security guard for COVID-19 screening. After that, you'll be permitted to enter the ground floor where you will sanitize your hands and be asked to put your belongings in a bucket, much like at the airport, to s... read complete review
