I arrived for my interview at approximately 1245pm. The security guy pulled me in at approx 12:50pm. They allowed me in with a digital watch, my jacket, and a black shopping tote (used to carry my binder and my photo album). I proceeded up the elevator to Window 6 - this is where they take your passport and give you a number. I then was called to Window 5 to handover my civil documents (birth certificate, police cert, marriage cert, passport photo x1). I was done with these two processes by 1:07pm I was then advised to sit and wait until called again.
By 1:45pm-ish, I was called to Window 1 where a lovely gentleman with a cool Captain America Funko figure interviewed me. He was really kind and cool.
Questions asked (i forget the order): confirmed my spouse's name, when we met and where, when we got married, and what we do for work. He then says he will approve my visa, handed over the info on how to track the passport and stated it will ta... read complete review

A couple of points that were not mentioned in previous reviews.
- My interview was on October 4th at 9:45 AM. One of the consular officers described that day as the first day of the "Surge". I counted about 25 people in the room that morning as opposed to some of the previous reviews of 3 people.
- The security officer asked if I had been out of Canada for the last 14 days - I told the truth and said the US - I did not want to lie to this officer even though it seems like the security is a private company from Montreal and not a consular officer. He followed up by asking if I was following the rules, which I was so you can travel from the US very close to the interview.
- Someone was not allowed in with a messenger bag - as previous reviews mentioned, just bring all your files organized in a Binder or folder.
-The officer asked for my wife's updated 1040, and not her W2.
-My security clearance from the RCMP was just more than 1 year old - ... read complete review

I found $10/day parking in Dorchester Square and walked the 900m to the embassy. They were checking people in 30 minutes early. After completing a screening, I entered the airport-like security. My phone and Apple Watch were put in a tiny locker and I went upstairs in an elevator. There were 2 passport-office-style partitions: one for US citizen services and one for Visas. I was asked for my passport, passport photos, and proof of payment. I was given a number ticket and sat down in the open waiting area. 20 minutes later, I was called to one window and asked to review our information. I was then asked for a copy of my passport bio page, the affidavit of support, and my birth certificate. I was asked about my occupation, and told to take a seat again. 20 minutes later, I was called to a different window. I swore to tell the truth, and the man reviewed the domestic violence brochure. I was then asked the following questions:
-what is your love story
-where did you meet ... read complete review

I was approved at my interview on Friday October 15th!
I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment time as I have heard many others advise they are turned away and asked to return. I got in the line that had formed outside the doors. It was the last appointment of the day. The security guard was letting one person in as one person was leaving. My time was 9:45, I don't know the exact time but it was after 10:00 AM when I was let in. Went through security like the airport. No bags, no phones etc. They have lockers but I left my phone with my husband to make things easier. The security at the door asked covid screening questions including if I had left Canada in the last 14 days. I showed my passport, he checked my name on a list (before security.) They explained exactly where to go and it was very easy to navigate- first floor window 6. The guard upstairs tells you to have passport ready with passport photos (photos are returned.)
I was given a number and sa... read complete review
