I had my interview on Nov 29th scheduled for 8:00 AM. When I got to the Consulate around 7:30 AM there were already a line up to enter the building so I parked quickly and got in the line as well. Lots of people inside, probably around 30 or so, with not much room left to sit and wait. I was called twice and got my visa approval in about 1,5 hrs total.
I am still waiting for the passport though, I signed up with the courier service and pick up at a Canada Post downtown location. I'm wondering what timelines is everyone getting from the interview to passport in hand?

I then went through security and deposited my phone in the lockbox. I took the elevator to the first floor and checked in at window 6 to provide my passport and my photos. I then waited for an hour until I was called to window 4 to provide my civil documents. I gave my original marriage certificate, police certificate, birth certificate, as well as copies of my updated AOS, my jointly filed tax returns from 2020, my spouses' 2020 W2 and 1099s. I also told him about my new US address to update my DS-260. I was given a pamphlet on rights of foreign spouses in situations of domestic violence and told to sit and wait for my number to be called. Overall, this consular officer was friendly and we talked about the Bay Area, since he's ... read complete review

According to the applicant the interview was very fast (less than 5 minutes), more than likely due to a high volume of applicants scheduled and the severe backlog. Officer asked the typical questions you would expect to be asked crossing any international border as a tourist, requested civil documents to be handed over and then approved.
