First let me start with, I waited a long time for this day! And to those still waiting - it's all worth it and your time will sneak up on you.
I have friends in Montreal, so we were able to stay with them...savings on hotels and meals - yeah!
We had to pick up my medical results in the morning - I was there at 7 a.m. sharp and outta there in less then 5 min; then it was off to the consulate. (like 5 minutes away on St. Alexandre. We were lucky and found parking in the same block - so we were waiting outside with 4-5 others at 7;25 or so - it was cold and brisk wind - dress warm! We were let in by about 7;45; one at a time, through the front doors. I brought nothing with me but the binder with all our paperwork - much easier to get through security! We were told to go downstairs where we waiting about another 10 minutes for the guard to come and escort up to the elevator. He also gave us our letter 'd' - Once upstairs, again we waited about 15 minutes or so - we talked wit... read complete review

Forgot to mention that we have been approved, the rest is only an administrative experience.

While the bottom line is that everyone was very friendly and helpful, and the entire process did not take very long.

I took the train from London, ON and checked into La Tour. Like many people have said, it's not the greatest given the price ($100), but it was clean and safe and very worn out. I took it because it was the cheapest and most convenient. If you are staying as a couple, and don't mind a bit of a hike, I would recommend one of the boutique hotels on St. Denis. They are inexpensive, charming and give you a better sense of what Montreal is. It would still be possible to walk to the consulate, or there is always the metro and cabs. If you are going to be there for more than one night then this really is the way to go.

I got to the consulate a little late (7:50 or so) and it was already quite busy. The guard checking people in the lineup pulled me out when I showed him my interview confirmation and I was fast-tracked through security. Do not bring ... read complete review

Great experience in Montreal. Arrived early at 6:50. Third person in line. I was out of there by 9:10. My immigration officer was incredibly nice and apologetic for how long we have waited. Make sure to bring photocopies of your marriage license and birth certificates as they want to have those on file when they give you back originals. I also negotiated with my interviewer to pick my visa up the next day. Told him I had to be out of the apartment by the weekend. It's worth a shot if you have to move quickly. But don't go in expecting to get the visa in Montreal. The officer said he rarely gives out the clearance ticket to come back and pick it up. Must have caught him on a good day. Good luck to those with interviews coming up. It's much easier then I was expecting.

My husband and I arrived at the consulate around 7:15 and there were already 4 groups of people (including VJer Philandjulie) in line. The security guard let us in at 7:30, we passed the security inspection and were assigned the letter E (We learned about it later when we were being called- we barely saw the tag when the security guard showed it to us earlier and had no idea what letter it was). We waited about 30 minutes (or more) to be called to window 11. A very nice blond lady took the documents and asked us to sit at the chairs in front of the windows (instead of going back to the general waiting area). We waited for about 10 minutes and she took my finger prints. Then we went back to the general waiting area, waited for about 15 to 20 minutes, before we were called to room 7 for the interview. Our officer was another very nice blond lady. She had us take the oath, checked the documents, and asked the following questions (all in a very relaxed tone):
- When did you get marr... read complete review
