First of all I would like to thank all the VJr's for their inputs and support, specially Saylin and Zach.
My husband and I drove from Toronto the previous night. We had booked at Holiday Inn (155 Rene Levesque) which is about 10 minute walk to the Consulate. We did a recon. to make sure of the timing and to check out where the Tim Hortons is located.
We arrived at 6.55am and I was first in line. As advised by the members, I was only carrying a folder with all my documents and a plastic bag with my medicals and x-rays.
The doors opened at 7.30am and I was asked to go to the door on the left up the stairs. Once past the security, I went down on the left and sat close to the elevator. We were all gathered there for about 25 mins and were then asked to get into the elevator. I stayed at the back on the left and was second in line to the cashier (just didnt want to be the first).
I got the C2 number and was called in a few mins and was asked to go to Wind... read complete review

My K1 interview experience was quite like all the other Montreal experiences - there were no surprises for me and I am so grateful for all the experiences shared here because I came prepared! Thank you all!
My friend and I drove to Montreal from Ottawa and parked in the public lot across the street (and down a little alley). We paid $15 for the day. After walking to the Tim's up Blvd. Rene Levesque for a hot drink and the washroom, we arrived back at the consulate doors by 7:20 and were 3rd in line. Our little group grew to probably 20 within 15 minutes.
I brought a large plastic envelope with all my paperwork and my x-ray in a plastic bag. I also had my friend's spare car key in my wallet since I knew I couldn't bring my phone. At the security screening, the guard watching the computer screen had another guard open my wallet to make sure the key was not electronic. I was allowed in with my watch, though...
We were told the elevat... read complete review

No problems at all. Interviewer was very nice and helpful. Did not take long to get approval. I had all the paperwork in order. That helped.

Went very quick, everyone was friendly and very efficient. I was first in line at 7am outside, let in at 730 and was finished and out the door by 830.
Now if only they'd be so efficient at sending out the approved visas

Montreal Consulate Review
I arrived at the door of the consulate at 7:00am on Thursday morning. No one else showed up until about 7:20. As people started to arrive I realized I must have been one of the only ones who is a member of VJ, because many of them came with backpacks, cellphones etc. All I brought was a plastic shopping bag containing my file folder of documents, and a passport holder containing my passport and photos.
At 7:30 (at least I think it was 7:30 – I didn’t have my cell phone and wasn’t wearing a watch), a guard came to the door and asked who was first in line. I said I was and he asked to see my invitation letter and passport, which I had ready.
He let me in the door, and then up a very short flight of stairs there is another set of doors. I was told to go through the door on the left. This is where the “airport-style” security takes place. You empty your pockets, remove your belt, a watch if you have one, your ... read complete review
