A wonderful experience for us thanks to the advice of Visajourney's members on how to organize our documents and navigate the consulate. Thankfuly our case was not complicated and we were there for just a few hours (we were one of the first peoplein line and left at about 10:30). The consular officers were jovial and friendly - it felt wonderful to hear them welcome us to the USA after the unexpectedly long journey we've had.

I filed for a K1 visa and have to say that the entire process in Montreal went smoother than I had originally anticipated. I was expecting somewhat of a hassle judging by what others have been through and ended up recieving no issue at all.
The process is fairly standard. I say to arrive early. The earlier you go, the faster you will get out. I got to the consulate by 6:50 in the morning and waited outside until about 7:30. They let you in, you go through security, and then they place you into this tiny room that is rather intimidating. I waited there for about 20 more minutes until we were taken up an elevator to the 19th floor.
Once there, you are given a number depending on your case. What scared me when I got in was that I was not on their official list for interviews. Do not let this bother you. They took me in regardless, pulled my file using my appointment number given to me when you schedule your interview on the CSC website. They will ask you for... read complete review

Showed up at the medical at about 5:55am and 6 other people were already there waiting outside. We stood out side until someone showed up to let us in. Got in the elevator and went up to the 2nd floor. We were told to grab a number in the order we showed up. filled out some papers and was directed to go get blood work. Then went for our chest x-ray, followed by our external medical and an eye exam.
Showed up at my interview and had to wait outside. Someone came and saw me and asked which visa I was getting. Checked me off the list and was escorted inside. went through a security check and was escorted upstairs, they scanned my medical envelope for anthrax and then was escorted up the elevator. Was sent immediately to window B. Was asked to put my documents in a specific order. She went through them then gave me a number. I sat there for about 30 minutes till my number was called. I went to another window where the guy looked over my file, asked me where we met, and that was it.... read complete review

We arrived On Wednesday July 13th for my medical at Medysis on Sherbrooke Ave in Montreal. Had a quick exam by the Dr. (tapped my knees, palpatated my tummy and a quick visual check to see if I was a female lol; blood work and chest x-ray) Professional and quick. $213.00 (USD)
Day before interview we stayed at the Holiday Inn Midtown, which is next door to the medical clinic to go pick up thje results, (they need three full business days to process your paperwork) and a 7 minute easy walk to the US Consulate. We did the walk-by to determine the location of the Consultate and the time to walk there.
Arrive at 6:35 am Tusday morning, first in line, my husband went around the corner to get a Timmies. :-)
The Consulate is on a side street, double glass doors, clearly marked, line up to the left. At 7:30 am doors opened, went through security. DO NOT take anything you do not need, I had a small purse plus my binder, they went through the purse and took out two memory s... read complete review

My interview was really easy and very stress free! I arrived just before 7am, and was fourth in line. The line got really long shortly after that. At 7:30 a guard checked our interview letters and let us in. We had to wait to go through security one-by-one. After security I went and sat as close to the elevator as possible, as did other VJ'ers and the guard let us go up in the elevator just before 8am. I stood in line for my ticket and got CR3 and sat and waited to be called. Once I had handed in my original documents, my fingerprints were taken, my DS 230 was handed in (it is a great idea to fill this out at home and bring it with you as it saves a lot of time!), and it was time for my interview! I was only the second interview, and it was short and sweet. A very nice blonde lady did my interview, but she was also training someone else, so she really only asked me two questions - how did I meet my husband and where would I be living. Other than that she spent the next 5 minut... read complete review
