On August 29, I went to Medisys in Montreal for my medical interview which consisted of the following:
1. Checked in with receptionist - showed passport, gave 3 passport photos, gave immunization records
2. Chest x-ray
3. Blood pressure checked, blood drawn and vision test
4. Immunization records confirmed (none needed for me)
5. Doctor visit - checked throat, ears, breathing, asked about smoking & alcohol history, checked eyes
6. Checked out with receptionist and paid $213.48 CAD including tax (I would have paid more if I had needed any immunizations).
Each segment only took a few minutes but with wait times between segments, the whole interview took about 3 hours.
On September 9, I had my immigration interview for the K-1 Fiancé Visa. My fiancé and I arrived outside at 6:40 am and the next person arrived about 6:55 am. By 7:30 am the line was quite long. The security guard made everyone line up to the left of ... read complete review

I arrived at 6:30am and was first in line - bonus!
The security guard arrived shortly before 7:30am and started the process of getting everyone set to go inside, aiding a wheelchair bound lady first (which was fine with everyone in line). Do not bring anything electronic with you - you will be sent away. I brought a paperback book to read but ended up not even needing it.
After going thru security you are guided to go downstairs and thru to a room that has a barricaded spot in front of an elevator (sit as close to this as possible as you will be getting on that elevator - first on first off).
When I was there the guard called forth someone from the back of the room and instructed him on before all the rest of us - not sure what was up with that.
We arrived upstairs at 8:02am and had to go thru the cashier line to get our ticket stub (C3 yay) and then sat down to await our numbers to be called. I was called 2nd, even though ... read complete review

Well, I could hardly wait to come home and write this review!! Woo hoo! This is because if we had not read some of the reviews BEFORE we went to ours today, we would have forgotten our copy of the package originally submitted (I-129F )and we would not have known that the petitioner can actually go to the interview with their fiance. This made our process interview a whole lot less stressful.
The security welcome was quite serious and there were not too many applicants there. Some sought passports while others sought different Visas. They were VERY strict about leaving your stuff at home. No cell phones, cameras, etc. Just carry your papers, ID and that is it!
From the time of the appointment to the moment when we were told that the K-1 was going to be issued, took approximately 90 minutes. Just follow their instructions. Once we got upstairs, everyone was quite pleasant. JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL YOUR PAPERWORK ORGANIZED! They will give you a list of required document... read complete review

My fiancee had her interview on September 2 in Montreal. I drove up to Canada to go with her and we made a vacation out of it since it was a holiday weekend. We stayed at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure not far from the consulate.
Thanks to VJ forums we were as prepared as we could be. We took a cab from the hotel and arrived at the consulate at 7:00am and were 5th in line. They opened the doors at 7:30. We went through the security check. They held a few things for us that weren't allowed in like an SD card that was in Jenni's purse. They gave us a ticket so that we could pick it up on the way out.
We were directed downstairs and sat in the only two wooden chairs in front of the elevator. We chatted with a few others while waiting for the elevator to be opened. One person was there for her second time. She was denied entry at the border the first time, yikes.
The guard eventually came down to open the elevator and we made our way to the bac... read complete review

I am so HAPPY right now.. and so glad that this part of the process is over!
I woke up around 4:30am after a restless sleep! I arrived at the Embassy around 6:30am and I was the first in line!! Around 7:00am the line behind me kept getting longer and longer! The guard opened the doors around 7:30-7:45am and asked for my appointment letter. I had my accordion file folder in my laptop case... and this was an issue, keep in mind that all I had in the laptop case was my paperwork and my wallet. The guard looked at my appointment letter and told me that I could not go in because the bag I had was too big, I proceeded to tell him that I only had my paperwork and wallet in there, he didn't care because it was not considered a "woman's purse". He told me to bring it back to the hotel and come back and see him once I did. Lucky for me we parked just up the street, so it didn't take me long to run it back to the car. When I came back he allowed me to go to the front, he looked at ... read complete review
