I arrived at consulate at 4.45am.I wanted to be first as I knew on May 22, 2012 there were 3 other VJ member’s interview as well. So as being a VJ I knew VJ members will arrive early. Anyway, we were sitting in the car right beside the consulate gate so I don’t have stand there so long and it was also raining outside. There was a parking right beside the consulate $18 maximum stay. At 6.09am I saw 1 lady with a binder and a girl was walking to the consulate and I jumped off the car right away and stand beside the consulate door. The lady stand behind me and told me your hubby is very intelligent for parking his car here so you didn’t have to stand up while no one was here. Hubby went to the parking lot to park the car. Then I saw Shell is walking with her hubby towards the consulate. Then I saw Jordan came to the consulate by taxi. It was only 6.15am and already 4 group of VJ member were already in line. We were all standing there and chatting about VJ and other stuff.

The actual interview process took less than 20 minutes. It was very pleasent and easy going. The sercurity was intense, no cells or bags in the consulate at all!

The only problem was the 3 hour wait in the wind and cold outside of the consulate in Vancouver at the end of November!

I arrived at the Consulate a little later than I had wanted to - around 6:50AM. There were a few people there already, maybe 5 groups. Get there early! I spotted a woman with a huge purse and a man with a laptop bag ahead in the line. "They'll get turned away and I'll move up in the queue!" I thought to myself, and which was correct.

Security showed up at 7:30AM to let us in. The two people I had spotted were baffled by being turned away - oopsie daisy! The guard let the first few of us in after checking our interview letters then closed the door. Have ready: passport, DHL/Loomis confirmation and interview letter. A man inside the door checks your Loomis document, and attaches a sticker with your booking reference number to the back of your passport. You then wait to be called up through security. Remove your belt, jacket, everything in your pockets, etc. Typical baggage x-ray and walk through metal detector procedure after - same deal as TSA without the groping. Once c... read complete review

Hi guys,
I will try to write down my experience at the Consulate of Montreal, May 7th.
we were schedule or 8am. My fiance flew from the states on Sunday morning and arrived in Montreal in the afternoon. I took the via Rail train from Toronto and arrived in Montreal Sun afternoon as well. I got at the hotel one hour before my fiance, so I was able to do the check-in and get settled. We stayed at Hilton Bonaventure, just in front of the Central Station and 8 min walking to the Consulate (Our one night stay at this hotel, was a friend\'s gift for us ).
Anyway, we went out for dinner and before we walked to the Consulate just make sure we would know where we would go on Monday morning.

So, i didnt sleep at all the night before, my fiance slept like an angel, guys don\'t worry like girls, right? ahahah.
Monday 6h40 we arrived at the Consulate and there were 3 people in front of us. We didn\'t chat with them all the time, jus... read complete review

Montreal was good, overall. So much easier than I anticipated. As long as you have all the documentation on the checklist, you will be just fine. ...and if your kids are anything like mine, take change for the vending machines to keep them happy.

1 word of warning -- Google maps lies. I booked a room at the Holiday Inn Midtown, which Google said was about a 10 minute walk from the consulate and 15 minute walk from the train station. Maybe if one was an Olympic level race walker, but not otherwise. We ended up taking cabs everywhere. Holiday Inn was on the expensive side, but had an indoor pool, which the kids loved! Spending the afternoon in the pool totally made up for me getting them up and out the door at the crack of dawn for the interview. The consulate was a $5 cab ride from Holiday Inn, and the train station was a $10 cab ride.

The reviews for Montreal are spot on. I don't have too much to add to what has alre... read complete review
