This is also for all F4's who have waited the longest - my 13 years journey came to a happy ending yesterday March 6, 2013.
First interview - Being Swiss we had our initial interview scheduled in Switzerland January 5, 2011 but because we live in Canada now and having Canadian citizenship too, we had to have our files transferred to Montreal which delayed our process for about 5 months. We had informed NVC early during processing that we reside in Canada and not Switzerland, but our interview was scheduled in Switzerland. Luckily the petitioner, my brother (US Citizen) also received a notice of Approval I-797 letter, otherwise we would never have known of our case as we no longer live in Switzerland.
VERY IMPORTANT FOR DUAL NATIONALS : Inform NVC early in the process in which country you would like to have your interview done. Get this cleared and confirmed in advance. They will schedule your interview in that country whose address/country of residence you... read complete review

I had my interview in montreal on Feb. 28th. overall a good experience, nothing scary about it! so dont worry so much! i stayed at the travelodge only a few blocks from the embassy, the room was small but was reasonably priced and continental breakfast included. parking there overnight was extra $18.
I arrived at the consulate at about 6:30 am, no one there waiting so i was first in line (YAY!) when the doors opened they let us in 1 by 1 and asked for Loomis confirmation and passport. put a sticker on the passport and then went through security. they kept my cigarettes and gave me a ticket to pick them up when my interview was complete. After security you go down stairs and sit as close to the elevator as possible. finally we went up in the elevator, IMMEDIATLEY TURN LEFT TO THE CASHIER COUNTER and they will check you in and give you your ticket (i got c-1 YAY) then a bit more waiting until your number is called. I was asked for a few papers and my fingerprints were scanned. the... read complete review

Here we go... it's gonna be long... you ready?
My husband arrived at the consulate at 6:35. He went ahead of us so the kids could have something to eat at the hotel before we went out to meet him. We had walked over the night before to make sure we knew where to go. He was first in line. Someone else showed up a few minutes later and by the time I arrived with the kids at 7:05 there were about 8 people there. The doors were opened by security promptly at 7:30 and we were allowed in.
The woman at the door only asked for our Loomis info and passports. She checked for our names on the list based on that. After finding each of us on the list, she put the sticker on the back of the passport, wrote the reference number for Loomis on the sticker and sent us in to security. She did NOT ask to see my husband's passport though we had it with us.
Security was quick and painless. Coats off, belts & watches off, empty pockets into the bin and walk throu... read complete review

Being the worrier that I am, this site has helped me so much. I thought it was time to give something back.
This is a review of my experience in Montreal at my K1 Visa interview.
My interview was scheduled for March 4th, 2013. My fiance flew from Washington, DC to accompany me to the interview. He wasn't needed for the interview but the support definitely helped calm my nerves. We arrived on the sunday before (march 3rd) and stayed at the Delta Montreal. The hotel was really nice, newly renovated and the costs were reasonable. It was $98.00 for the night and only about an 8 minute walk to the consulate. The concierges at the front of the hotel was extremely helpful and friendly with us. They assisted us in photocopying quite a few documents and provided us a map of the area marking off the consulate and great places for us to get beer if we wanted We went out for dinner at this restaurant called Firegrill, it was very tasty and their wine selection w... read complete review

Got to the consulate early, was third to arrive. Chatted with other vj'ers to pass the time and forget how freaking cold it was. Security kept my key fob and ear buds (loser, I forgot). Followed all previous review suggestions after security, getting on elevator, but when you get to the actual floor? Confusing. Just head to the cashier spot and stay there or others will bud ahead. Whatever.
First interview window she asked for my birth certificate and had me sign the papers I submitted online, as well as the I134 and supporting documents. (or maybe that was 2nd interview?) Did some digital fingerprints, then back to the general area to wait.
First interviewee left with a big smile and a thumbs up to a quiet crowd. Elbowing your way to be first in line pays sometimes, I suppose.
Third gal to be called to the interview left with a sad expression, made me nervous, but I was C5, so they called me in, and it was my turn. Young gal asked me the... read complete review
