Had my interview Sept 25; stayed at the Travelodge, it was a great location to the Consulate $98.00 per night, very small but it served its purpose. Did the pre walk to the consulate the night before, arrived at the consulate by 6:45 am the day of my interview. There was one other lady in line with her daughter; she did not have Loomis and was turned away to call them at 8 am to sign up. At 7:30 am the security guard came and let us in one by one; took my interview letter; passport and courier confirmation; went thru security and down the stairs to wait by the elevator. Out of all the people in line only 7 of us were cleared to come through and go up at 8 am. Went to the back left of the elevator then immediately to the left and waited till the 14a/b cashier opened us and was given the infamous C1. Sat and waited 10 mins till I was called to window 1; the lady was very nice; took finger prints...took medical and two photos along with a copy of my passport bio page...then nothing else. ... read complete review

IR/CR1 Review - Montreal
Hotel:
We stayed at the Travelodge on Rene-Levesque. Around $120 for 1 night. It was about a 6-7 minute walk to the consulate which is the main reason why we stayed there. We got there the day before the interview and walked to the consulate so we'd know exactly where to go. The hotel was ok but I wouldn't stay there again. Parking was $21 in the hotel parking garage so it was convenient. The rooms are European style so they're really small. The shower only had 2 temperature settings, really hot or really cold. We had room 111 which got a really good Wifi signal so that was helpful. Breakfast is included and it's the generic continental breakfast that you find anywhere else. Nothing special. The breakfast wasn't that great but it tasted great after we were approved. We were back at the hotel by 9 after our interview and enjoyed the breakfast (but honestly anything would've tasted great at that point). All in all, it didn't really m... read complete review

We had our interview yesterday and were approved, so I thought I would make a small contribution to the site that helped us so much along the way.
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency which was located about a block from the hotel, it was a little more pricy but we thought we would treat ourselves as we had waited so long for this day. Hotel was really nice and we had a great view of Mont Royal.
We woke up around 530, got ready and walked to Starbucks on Saint Catherine and probably arrived at the Consulate around 645. There were already 4 people ahead of us. Opened doors around 730, and a couple of people were turned away for havings bags. But they did show up shortly after.
As far as the rest, I would say the process was standard as to what everyone describes here. Pass through security, wait near the elevator, get a ticket (we got C6). Was called to first set of windows and they asked for all the standard paperwork, birth, police, i-134, medica... read complete review

My husband had to tackle this process on his own. He flew from Toronto to Montreal on Sunday, took the 747 bus and stayed at the Days Inn Centre-ville/Downtown. It's nothing fancy, but it's a 10 minute walk from the consulate and he did a "practice run" last night.
He arrived in line at the Consulate around 6:45 am and was the 5th in line. Thanks to Saylin's diagram and a few people in front of him not knowing what he knew, he was able to get #C3. I tried to walk him through everything before he went in and he felt very prepared.
He said they called #C4 first, then started from #C1. He was called up for a brief discussion, fingerprints and was then told to go sit back down. Less than 5 minutes later, his number was called again. He had his fingerprints taken again, was asked a few simple questions (where did you meet your wife, where does your wife work, where does she live, where do you plan to live when you move, etc) and was given the "I'm appro... read complete review
