My fiance and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency (which is on Rue Jeanne-Mance - an easy 5 minute walk from the US Consulate). My experience was quick, and relatively painless. I guess it went as well as it could have!

There is an IGA (grocery store) in the same building as the Hyatt (which is called the Complexe Desjardins), so we went there the night before and picked up some foods for our early breakfast Monday morning (the day of my interview).

I didn't sleep at all the night before. I tried, but I was way too anxious. Around 5:45, I got out of bed and got ready. We left our hotel room around 6:40. We needed to go to MediSys on Sherbrooke Ouest to pick up my medical results. Got there around 6:45 (we drove - it was freezing out!), and I went in the building around 6:50. The receptionist told me they opened at 7am, but the doors to the travel clinic (on the 11th floor) were open before then. I spoke with the receptionist, and handed her my receipt for my m... read complete review

My interview at the Embassy is quite easy. Was at the Embassy door at 715am and was 7th on the line. They let us in at 730. Went through security and elevator at 0800. The clerk on the window 14 is late. We had our numbers at 0820. My number is c7. My number was called and the girl tried to be formal but nice. Just get our documents and then asked us to sit down and wait for our number to be called. After 5 minutes our number called and the guy is so nice. Asked a few questions and then congratulated me and gave us the Welcome America letter. This is the easiest part of the K1 visa..

My interview went wonderfully. If you are honest, and doing the visa for the right reasons - its a BREEZE!

Hello Everyone!!!

I had my interview on the 18th November 2013. I was approved. It is just a breeze although i was very nervous the night before and could not sleep at all.

I stayed at Hotel Omni Mount royal. Very nice hotel if are looking to spend a bit more. staff was friendly and it is just 10 min walk from the counsalate. I woke up at 5:30 am and got ready. I had put all my papers in order the night before so i did not had to do that in the morning. I was out of the hotel by 6. It was quite chilly and windy so if you have your interview coming up please be dressed in layers and keep warm.
I stopped at tim hortons to grab something before i went and was there by the cousalte by 6:30am. There was already someone infront of me and i was second in line. The time went very fast as we both were talking and co incidently we both were going to the same state in thr US. At 7:30 the guards came and let us in one by one. There was a lady there checking ou... read complete review

My husband and I left our apartment at 5am to be there on time. I recommend knowing what the place looks like and how to get there as it can be pretty confusing if you haven't been in the area before. It's very close to China town! We got there around 7am and waited in line with a couple of other people, the doors opened at 7:30 and the guard asked if we're there for a visa interview. Be ready to show your passport, loomis, and appointment letter(P4). Security is normal airplane security, a little loose to some standards but no electronic devices. There's a place to check your items if you don't want to bring them with you, such as your coat or wallet, before proceeding down stairs but it most likely won't be open until around 8am. There's a waiting room where you have to wait until the elevator is allowed to run(if you go early in the morning). The elevator is pretty small, some people in our group had to stay behind and wait for it to come back. Note that the elevator opens on the op... read complete review
