This is a question ( I am not sure I should post this somewhere else, if yes, feel free to let me know, or change the posting to another thread, thks)
I have an interview coming for FB-1 in Montreal.
My questions are:
1- Which documents are necessary, only the ones listed in the pre-interview checklist or some other documents are needed good to have to?
(ps. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/MTL-Montreal.html#pre_interview_checklist)
2- How many documents can you bring? I read you can bring a folder of documents, like how fat this folder can be? is there a max that can be brought in? somebody measuring it? I am planning on bringing a really fat A4/letter size folder full of documents, should that be ok?
thank you so muc... read complete review

IR1 and IR2. We arrived for our 9:30 appt 5 minutes early and we were let through security. We decided to leave our cell phones at the hotel in case lockers weren't available for a later appointment time, but it seems like there were a few left. We went upstairs and waited for about an hour to submit our documents at the window. It was packed up there. I wish we brought books, as there was not much to do other than stare at the clock and the ticket # monitor. An hour later we were called up for the interview portion. I believe since we have been together for almost 14 years, have children etc together it went pretty smooth. Was asked how we met, our longest stays in the US, if we traveled out of Canada or the US in the last 5 years, How many kids we have, He said he intended to approve our visas and that we should have it within two weeks. A day shy of a week, and we had them in the mail at the PO to pick up

Showed up to appointment prepared and when I got called it was seamless. No issues. Told I was approved. People were very nice. I recommend bringing a book as you will be sitting there from 1-2hrs with no phone and nothing to do.

Hello All,
My interview was at 9:45AM, I would say reach at the Building no more than 5 minutes. You will find line up in front of building outside. Even reaching exactly on time will work too.
No bags or belongings allowed except of wallet and phone along your file folder or papers, they will provide small locker to put the phone in.
At the security check u will be given 2 tokens with same number. After security screening you will be asked to take elevator and go to floor 1 which is the consulate office.
Here there will be screen that will display your number. windows 6-10 are for the documents verification and fingerprints.
I had my all documents uploaded on the account after i got the interview letter.
Spouse updated I-864, Recent W2+Tax Return since her recent transcript is not generated yet, job offer letter.
My Updated PCC for home and foreign country, my status change document.
Since ... read complete review

Had a very positive experience.
I was in the consulate for about 3 hours, the actual interview was about 3-4 minutes. I waited for 1.5 hours in the waiting room and then was finally called up to a counter to provide all my original documents (mariage cert, birth cert, police cert, 1 passport style photo, my passport). I was also asked for my spouses W2 and 2021 taxes. It was about 10 mins. I was given a domestic abuse pamphlet and told to return to the waiting area until the interview officer called me up for the actual interview. I wait for another 1.5 hours.
I was then called up a second time for the actual interview. Questions asked were:
- name of husband?
- where does your husband live?
- how did you meet?
- were you given a domestic abuse pamphlet when you checked in at the 1st counter (this is when I initially got called up to provide all my original documents to another officer)?
- have you visited any other coun... read complete review
