hi everyone - would like to give back to the amazing VJ community that helped me and my fiance through this whole k1 process, so here is my review of Montreal interview experience!
my visa was approved yesterday and i truly could not be happier/more excited! it was a whirlwind of a day but thanks to everyones reviews, it was seamless. my appointment time was at 7:40am and i flew in the night before on teh red eye so I just stayed at the airport until it was time to go downtown. i took the 747 bus which i highly recommend which dropped me off very close to the consulate. i got off on the rene-levesque/union stop #6 and it was only $10 for a 24 hour bus pass which i was able to use back to the airport after. there is nowhere to store your belongings at the consulate so i called in advance and made arrangements with the hotel one block away from the consulate called le square phillips and they just gave me a tag to retrieve my bag after my interview. from the hotel i walk... read complete review

I will be writing my review on Montreal, Consulate, and Interview.
Let me start my review with 3 words:
1) Extreme Cold
2) Extremely Cold
3) Exceedingly Cold
The reason I’m emphasizing on these 3 words is because DRESS accordingly. I’m from Calgary which is considered as very cold city and if I am exaggerating then its mean it’s harsh in Montreal during winter.
Montreal: I landed in Montreal in the afternoon and as per VJ’ers I hop-in on 747 Shuttle to downtown which is $10 and if you have to return back to airport via shuttle buy 3-day pass for $18.
Anyway I reached my Hotel in Downtown and literally it was 1 min walk to the hotel from bus-stop and I felt like my body became numb because of the wind and no feeling in my fingers. Reminder: Dress with Layers. I checked in and I was hungry and I really needed to go out and eat but was afraid at the same time to step out. I finally manage... read complete review

Well first off it was absolutely FREEZING the morning of my interview (January 5, 2015). We stayed at L'Appartement Hotel, which is across the street from medisys and a ten minute walk from the consulate. I stopped by medisys at 7am to pick up my medical exam and in that short time, my husband (who had gone to put our bags in the car which was in a garage) decided that we were going to drive to the consulate in lieu of walking because of how miserable it was. I used Saylin's photo instructions which were so helpful!
He dropped me off right at 730am and waited for me close by at the Burger king around the corner. everyone was crowding the door to block the wind but I lined up against the wall as Saylin suggested. As a result, when the guard came to open the door, he made the crowd file in a single line behind me!
Once we all got in, we went through the security check. I watched so many people get turned away for bringing in purses and bags. Once cleared t... read complete review
