Everything went very smoothly. My husband and I reviewed Saylin's great post and were well prepared.

Husband arrived at the Consulate at 7AM and was first in line.

Question asked included:
When did you meet your wife?
When did you get married?
Was this your first marriage?
What does your wife do for work?
Where does your wife live?
Do you have a criminal record?

My husband was then told he was approved and given the "Welcome to US" flyer. They said it could be a a few weeks before his passport was returned.

That's it! My husband was back at his hotel by 9AM.

APPROVED! Oh man after 14 months of waiting it feels really good! Back at my hotel already

A quick recap as promised.
My review is based on snail mail method of submitting my documents to Nvc.

Left my hotel at 6:40 and stopped at Starbucks. Got to the consulate at 7:20. There was already a line of about 6-7 people (but 5 of them were part of two families)
They let us in at 7:30ish. The guard was nice and controlled the line well. Went through security and down to the elevator area. I sat as near to the elevator as I could. At 8 they opened the elevator and we got in. I was # 3 for immigrant visa. There were lots of non immigrant, student, work etc visa people.

Number 1 and 2 got called to the first windows right away. This was around 8:05. They stayed there a long time, probably due to them doing EP and needed to provide originals.

They called me to the first window at 8:35. I was there for only 5 minutes. All sh... read complete review

I just had my interview this morning. Visa approved!

After the interview, I saw my husband who was waiting for me outside the consulate and I burst into tears.

Bon courage to all the CR-1 Visa applicants!

I got a lot of help from VJ members so here comes my experience.

I arrived early as suggested, 7:30am. There were about a dozen people there already. People with bags were refused to enter and had to come back after they check their bags. After the security, I was told to go downstairs and wait in the waiting room. The consulate officers start to work at 8:00am.

If you want to be interviewed early, I suggest you to sit next to the elevator. That's where the line starts.

Then at 8:00am sharp, we were directed to take the elevator towards 19th floor. There, a receptionist tells you where to wait. For immigrant visa, they give a number for each person. I was number 4. That means I will be the fo... read complete review

I just had my interview this morning, and everything went very smoothly. It was great to read other reviews on here to know what to expect, and hopefully more people continue to post from Vancouver!

My appointment was at 9am and I arrived at the consulate at 8:45. There were about 25-30 people waiting in line outside when I got there. They asked for my passport, DS-160, medical packet, and passport photos, and gave me a paper that said 20th floor, window B. Thanks to the info on this site, I only brought my documents and car keys with me, and left my cell phone, purse, and all other items in my car. It did look like they were issuing lockers for smaller items like phones, but anyone who had a bag that was bigger than small purse was directed to leave it at one of the shops across the street.

I then was directed to join the line waiting outside. They let groups of 5 in at a time, and it was nearly an hour by the time I got in to go through security. Once i... read complete review
