Today my visa was approved. Thank you to the VJ community for your help. I followed Saylin's pictures and members' WIKI and all went smooth, needless to say I was a wreck. I drove to Montreal from Ottawa yesterday, picked up my results from Medisys, and stayed at the Philips Square suites. A little pricy but very close and they put my bags in my car and charged me one day parking $22, good until 2pm today. I also ate in, as there is a kitchen in the room. I went to the embassy at 6:50 because I could not sleep or eat, so why not. My appointment was for 10 am. Disregard the time, just go. At 7:30 there was quite a line up. I was first, I had to show my passport,Loomis letter, and appmt letter to the greeter and then through security. I had a teeny purse, and my docs in clear plastic folders. No keys, no phone. They did turn people away in line that had bags, and they took keys to be returned later. I was through and down the stairs and sat as close to the elevator as possible. At 8 am ... read complete review

Had my interview today. Although terrified, I made it through the process.
Everything went as I read off the journey site. Still was like walking on death row but another hurdle that one must go through.
I met up with Eric & Chris that were also taking their interview. Thank you so much to both of them for helping take away some of the nervousness. You both were awesome and it was so nice to meet you both.
I was asked many questions;
How did you meet? When did you meet for the 1st time? When did you get married? What does your husband do for a living? Have you traveled to the US since the process started? How often do you see your husband? How has this 2 years in Canada affected your relationship? Answer: We must be ok because we didn't kill each other yet. (She actually laughed) Everything went along quickly. She tossed some more papers and gave me that Golden Ticket and said Welcome to the United States of America. You will rec... read complete review

Interview Date: Friday April 10, 2015
Location: Montreal
Visa Type: K-1 Visa
Travelling/Hotel:
I travelled from Windsor to Montreal by bus, by myself. Although he complained about me going by myself, we had already spent so much money and will need to spend more, that I decided to go on my own by bus. I used Greyhound for Windsor to Toronto and Megabus from Toronto to Montreal. Totaling $140. I never stayed in a Hotel. Arrived in Montreal at 6:40AM for my interview at 7:40AM. Best decision I ever made. Although 25 hours on a bus was rough – it was totally worth it! Megabus was super cheap if you book ahead of time. Highly recommend the bus for those who are on a tight budget.
Now on to my interview!
What I Brought With Me:
Since I wasn’t staying in a Hotel, I only brought my folder of papers, my cellphone charger and my cellphone. I had all of this in plastic ba... read complete review

Hi folks:
This is long, but I want to be thorough and help those who have not yet gone through the process. My husband (the applicant) had a 10-yr bar so this has come after many years apart and many tears shed, and many dollars spent on paperwork and appeals.
Medical Appointment at Medisys:
Please do not wait until the last minute. My husband had his medical appointment a week before today and when we called yesterday to come pick up the envelope, it still was not ready. So, make sure you call and have your results at least the day before your consulate interview.
Hotel: we stayed at the Travelodge just tree blocks down the street. Not bad ($117) for one night. Free Breakfast and rooms are good, but wifi is too slow.
Consulate Interview
Our appt was 8:30. We were #2 to be interviewed. We got on line at 7:40. The security was strict about brining in bags, phones, etc. We left all that stuff at the hotel so we skipped fou... read complete review

After a crazy travel from Vancouver (flight cancelled, had to flight overnight to Toronto...) anyway!
Got to the consulate at 8.30 when my interview was scheduled for 9.30am.
Was #12 in line and met with people that had been there since 7am and where still waiting for their interview.
The receptionist was really nice and helpful.
Sat down, got my number called at the first window and we reviewed my whole case together. She asked for copies of my mariage certificate (in order to give me back my original) and some other document. The lady at the window was really nice.
She said it would take a couple of minutes to get my name called for my interview. It took about 1h30 but it was worth it
Interview was brief:
How did you meet?
How often do you see each other? How to you communicate?
What does your wife do?
What do you do?
The second lady who was performing the... read complete review
