First, I had my medical done at Dr. M's office in Toronto. They are very accommodating. I was one of the late Mar/early Apr 2015 CC group so we only had 2-3 weeks notice to get everything done before the interview. The receptionists and Dr. M are very friendly. I showed up right at my appointment time but I had to wait more than an hour to be seen. It was like a market there. At one point, there were 19 people in the wait room. Maybe it was just that day! It seemed like it was first come first serve basis. However, the actual exam was very fast. Dr. M measured my blood pressure and asked about my medical history. That's it. The place for X-Ray was downstairs and CML is across the street beside TD bank. I finished the actual medical exam in a little more than an hour. And I was able to pick up my results in exactly one week! The envelope was sealed with a "DO NOT OPEN" sticker on it.

My interview was on May 14, 2015. We thought about flying, driving or VIA train. I took t... read complete review

Hubby (Beneficiary) had interview on 5/5. He was very prepared thanks to VJ and others who posted helpful information. Between us and NVC we missed the need/requirement for the original Jamaican Police Certificate. Hubby is naturalized Canadian citizen and left Jamaica almost 40 years ago. We had provided Canadian Police certificate per NVC but never received a checklist or anything until the Thursday before his Tuesday interview requiring the Jamaican police cert. He was so disappointed. Anyway to the review.
His interview was scheduled for 8am he got THERE AT 6:52 AM. THERE WAS ALREADY 2 PEOPLE THERE but clearly not VJ members because per hubby they were not lined up correctly and had pocket books One lady was actually telling people that there was no need to form a line.. Hubby was not swayed . He had all his documents in clear legal sized poly/plastic envelopes all in a clear legal binder holder.

Had my interview yesterday. I only got my appointment TWO WEEKS before the interview, so everything was very rushed and I actually got the LAST medical appointment that would get me my results before the interview out of ALL the eastern-Canadian medical places.

I stayed in a local hostel at twenty dollars a night, breakfast included. It was a half hour walk from Medisys and a twenty minute walk from the consulate. I HIGHLY recommend Auberge Jeunesse Gite du Plateau Mont-Royal if you need to stay for a full week. VERY clean, very polite staff. Small dorms--just six beds in the largest dorms and they offer both mixed and female-only options. VERY accommodating, great wifi.

Medical went well with no hitches. Medisys had my results ready the day before my interview.

Woke up FAR too early on the day of the interview and couldn't get back to sleep, so I ended up leaving the hostel with WAY too much time. There's a Starbucks across the stre... read complete review

I am so excited to write this!
I suppose I shall start at the beginning. We called the NVC to find out the status of our case 14 days before the interview. The operator informed us that our case was completed and that our interview had been scheduled! (Apparently this was done the day prior, but the email hadn't gone out yet). I Received the email several hours later that same day!
I immediately called the nearest panel physician to me- they were completely booked. I called a second (twice!) and no one answered, i did leave a voicemail on the second call, but I never did hear back! That same day, I emailed Dr Lyndon Mascarenhas, and within a few hours I had my medical booked! (Do NOT wait until the last minute to schedule your medical! Get at it as soon as possible!!) I ended up emailing them back a few days later, as I was nervous that the results wouldn't be ready in time- the receptionist agreed with me and was able to bump me up few days. The medical itself was very s... read complete review
