Hubby (Beneficiary) had interview on 5/5. He was very prepared thanks to VJ and others who posted helpful information. Between us and NVC we missed the need/requirement for the original Jamaican Police Certificate. Hubby is naturalized Canadian citizen and left Jamaica almost 40 years ago. We had provided Canadian Police certificate per NVC but never received a checklist or anything until the Thursday before his Tuesday interview requiring the Jamaican police cert. He was so disappointed. Anyway to the review.
His interview was scheduled for 8am he got THERE AT 6:52 AM. THERE WAS ALREADY 2 PEOPLE THERE but clearly not VJ members because per hubby they were not lined up correctly and had pocket books  One lady was actually telling people that there was no need to form a line.. Hubby was not swayed . He had all his documents in clear legal sized poly/plastic envelopes all in a clear legal binder holder.
First Folder:
-Loomis deilvery confirmation letter
-P4/interview letter
-Copy of DS-260 and Receipt
Second Folder:
-Another copy of Loomis confirmation letter
-P4/interview letter
-2 Passport Photos
-Medical Exam (done by Lyndon Mascarenhas, MD CCFP IN Toronto )
-Originals and copies of all documents submitted (Birth certificate, Marriage certificate, Canadian police record)
proof OF Canadian CITIZENSHIP
Copy of passport
-Copy of spouse's birth certificate
Proof of Spouse's US Citizenship
Copy of 2011-2014 taxes
Third Folder:
Evidence of relationship including greeting cards, wedding pictures, wedding Pictures, Mortgage Document for home we own together, Son's birth certificate,
pictures OF FAMILY TIMES THROUGH THE YEARS
Promptly @7:30 they opened the doors and ushered us all inside There was a nice standing just inside the door with a list of names. She asked you for your name, Loomis confirmation, and interview letter. Once you are checked in you moved to security. He his cell phone but already knew they would take it so he was prepared. Once you get through security you go down some stairs. Again as suggested on VJ he headed straight for the elevator and sat in the first chair beside it.He said there were a couple persons doing the same as him so he KNEW they were a VJ member He said those that were not were very disorganized and all over the place or just holding fast to their actual interview time sloth
At exactly 8:00 a guard came down and told us to get in the elevator and take it to the 19th floor. He said he kept saying to himself go to the back left corner and face the door. He did and got C2. SO FAR SO GOOD. The Receptionist commended him on how organized he was when he had to present his papers.
He sat down and his wait was not too long before he was called for his interview..
How long were we married(20 years)
where were we married (Florida)
Was this our first marriage (No we had both been previously married)
Asked about my divorce... Did he have the original Marriage Termination Doc... He presented it. (Never asked for his)
Reviewed the document and then asked him again about me... How many times had I been married .. Same answer as before Once...When was I divorced!! (FORTUNATELY HE KNEW!!
Did we have Kids YES 5 in total...
Did we have any children together yes ..1 son..
Then he asked him if he had ever had a DNA test done to prove our son was his ???? (Seriously not sure where that question came from) Hubby kept his cool and answered that our son was a mini him so there was no need CO smiled.
Asked about our home. Would that be where he would be living.
Asked if hubby had ever been to the US and if he had ever overstayed beyond 180 days. Yes due to an illness that warranted emergency life saving surgery.
Asked about my income and reviewed tax returns then asked for 2014... It had not been requested but hubby had it. Note to anyone interviewing now because it's after April 15 they are asking for 2014 Tax returns.
Now the tough part...CO asked for the original Jamaican POLICE RECORD... Hubby told him we were in the process of getting it.. CO gave him (221g)and told him that he was returning his passport so that if he could fly to Jamaica to get
the police record if he needed to. Told hubby to return passport and Police Record via Loomis and that Visa would be issued as soon as this is received. Should receive Police record tomorrow.Fingers crossed that he gets an approval soon. It's been 14 long months!! Thank you VJ for all your help.
