Had my interview yesterday in Montreal and thought I'd share my experience...this is going to be a long post.....

Following all the pointers and information here on VisaJourney, I lined up outside at 6:45 am. There were already a couple of people in front of me and they were also VisaJourney members, so we chatted to pass the time.

A couple of guards came out just before 7:30 and roped off the sidewalk to keep everyone in line and allow pedestrians to pass by.

Promptly at 7:30 am a guard came out asking what time our appointments were and she sent everyone away whose appointment time wasn't right away. The couple in front of me had an 8:30 am interview and she told them to come back at 8:15. My interview was at 10:00 am and I was told to come back after 9:30 am.

I came back at 9:30 and the guard asked me if I was registered with Loomis then gave me a number with instructions on which documents to have ready and told me to g... read complete review

Only the applicant is allowed in, we arrived 30 minutes prior and my husband (the applicant) was let in immediately. He had to surrender his phone and they gave him a coat check # for it. He went through security and he checked in and they gave him a #. He sat and waited to hear his # called over intercom and went to the corresponding window and gave all the documentation that was required in the interview letter. Remember to bring the original letter. He waited in that room for 40 minutes or so and then got called to a different room where the officer questioned him for a good 20 minutes: how we met, when we married, where we work, about my previous relationship, specific timeline information (and they did not want him referring to his documents for answers), after that it was approved and that was that. Took about 1 hour 40 minutes total. We got notice that the passport was ready for pickup within 3 business days.

I arrived at the consulate at 6:45 am, there was already 2 person waiting in line. By the time they opened the doors at 7:30, there was 20+ people.

Had to show my interview letter and my passport, they handed me a number (#2 yay! the second person in line was turned away because they had a bag). Security check went smoothly, they even asked if it was everything my fiancé and I had on us because we only brought my paperwork, a book and his car key.

Went to the next room waiting for the elevator. 8 am they opened the doors. Smoothest elevator ride ever, I could barely feel it going up, but it was CROWDED. We got out and a lady instructed us on where to go if we had number.

About 5 minutes later I was called to window #4. A lady asked some question, I-134, Birth Cerficate, Police certificate, etc. I followed the order they told us on paquet four, but when they ask the paperwork, it is not in that order.

She was VERY quiet an... read complete review

I had my interview on 5/13 in Montreal. This morning, 5/15, my status changed to Issued - what a wonderful feeling.
Despite a 10am stated appointment time, my USC and I arrived at 6:30 am; there were already a few people in line.
By the time security unlocked the doors at 7:30, there had to be 20-25 of us outside.
I was given a laminated number outside (#2). She looked only at my letter and passport. ***anyone with a "knapsack", "satchel", "man bag", etc got TURNED AWAY - no exceptions.
We went through security and then downstairs. Sat by the elevator. At 8am they let the first batch of us go up. Almost immediately after the doors opened I was paged first ("#2 go to window #4"). Note that once upstairs I didn't have to claim a number as I'd been given one downstairs. Handed over all my originals one by one, including 1040 tax docs from my USC. Had a seat and then was paged to window #8 (I think). He basically went through all the documents, confirmed det... read complete review
