You only need to get there at least 20 mins before your interview the guard will send you away if you are there earlier. A lady comes out and checks you in and gives you a number. you go through security and instructed to go down the stairs and take the elevator up to the 19th floor. once you come out there are three sections. one for non immigrant and the middle for immigrant,..not sure what the last one was. You go sit in the middle section and wait for your number to be called.

the first window is when she asks for your passport original birth certificate and marriage certificate and police reports, she didn't ask for any photocopies, then she takes your fingerprints and gives you the domestic abuse pamphlet and tells you to sit back down and your number will be called again for the interview.

I waited for another hour and a half before i was called again. She was a very nice and pleasant CO - asked me

1) how did you meet your husband? ... read complete review

The actual interview went smooth as anything. I read the reviews here prior to going so I made sure that I was 1st in line, that meant being there by 6:30am. A guy showed up shortly after I got there and then another girl, he asked where to line up so I told him which side (where the yellow posts are). Others came along and lined up on the other side of the building but I didn't tell them otherwise, just figured they would learn the hard way. Most people came and lined up on the right side though.

7:30 the guard came out and put up signs and a little line up thing on the right side of the building so the people on the other side were frustrated cause they were like (I was here 5th! So I could be able to jump in your line?) surprisingly people let them, whateves. Anyways, I checked my phone in and went and sat first chair near the elevator. Then a lady came and approached me and gave me the number #1 (yeahh!!!) and it had on the little number which documents to have read... read complete review

Let me say this first :
EVERYONE WAS SO SUPER NICE!!!
As a Vancouverite, it's always so fresh and heartwarming to encounter genuinely nice and friendly staff. Even the officer who takes people up the elevator was friendly and happy.

Arrived at the Starbucks around the corner at 8 am. My interview was at 9:30. I made my way a bit before 9 am, thinking they probably won't let me in yet.
But at the entrance, which was like a small alleyway almost, there were lines set up and three officers guarding each line. I went ahead into the middle line (I think because a sign said that was for the K visas or something related to me), and the officer asked to see my DS160 confirmation page and passport. I gave it to him, and all he did was check them briefly and put the confirmation page inside the passport and give them back to me. He then told me to wait in the next line on the right side. There, I was led to another officer who, this time, checked my personal i... read complete review

I had my interview on Friday, June 12, 2015. My appointment time was 10am.

I arrived at the consulate around 7:10am and I was 4th in line.
At 7:30am two security guards came out and told us to go inside and wait in the hallway. A few people were sent away, because they had backpacks with them.
Once in the hallway, we had to go through security one by one. I handed over my cell phone and I received a tag for it. The security guard told me to go downstairs and take a seat.

Downstairs there's a photo booth where you can take passport photos for $10. It only takes cash, no credit cards. I took a seat (I wasn't the closest to the elevator, but still close enough) and as I was waiting I realized that we didn't get a number outside, so that meant that we would get them upstairs at the US Consulate. I knew right away from the previous reviews that I had to make sure to stand in the left corner in the back of the elevator to be the first to leave to... read complete review

Doors open at 7:30am, however the line up started around 6:30am. My wife's appointment was at 8:30am, however we were turned away immediately and told to return in 30 minutes. Many people were told to come back for later appointment times.

Wife waited about an hour and a half before she was seen. She wasn't asked many questions. A few questions about me and where I lived and where I worked.

Aside from that, interview went smoothly, and she completed the interview about 2 hours after she went into the consulate.
