First of all, I got approved. I think. I received the «Welcome to USA» sheet from the interviewer.

My experience started very smoothly. I live in Montreal, so I woke up early and went to the Consulate around 7am (my interview was scheduled at 7:40am).

I received number 2. Waited in the wait area with other people for 8 o'clock so we can go upstairs with the elevator. On floor #19, there was another waiting room. I was called first. A girl asked me for my address and address in the US. I couldn't remember the apartment number. Me sure you memorize that address because she told me : «Please remember if it's number 3 or 6 because if you cannot remember you cannot have the visa!» Hopefully, I had a proof of address in my binder and I could check it out.
Then she took :
- birth certificate

I had my interview on July 10, 2015. Overall the experience was good.

My interview was at 7:40 and my fiance and I arrived around 7. We got a coffee from Starbucks across the street and joined the line (we were the 4th in line). We didn't bring our phones so I was not sure about the exact time, they didn't let us in until almost 8. Before getting in, the lady checked everyone's appointment letters and she gave me a ticket number for K1, I was number 1 (The line started to build up after 7, really quickly)

First, we went through the security. Security wasn't as rude as some people might put it, but they were definitely not "friendly". Since we had nothing with us, we were through pretty quickly.

Then we were let into this waiting area downstairs, we waited for awhile before someone let us up into the elevator. I think by the time we got to the 18th floor office, it was already 8:30.

I didn't have to get into the line again sin... read complete review

The most time, other than in the waiting room, was spent at the document verification window. The interview itself was quite painless, with the only downfall being the delay in processing the Visa. (this was during the height of June's Visa glitch). From arrival to departure, just under two hours. javascript:emoticon('')
